  • Jungle Beach was a twenty minute walk from Unawatuna. Situated in a clam bay so hardly any big waves and perfect water temperature. Litt under middels hotell.

Hotellet har en flott beliggenhet, men elendig frokost. To egg med en kald pølse var det vi fikk. Første dagen var det ikke varmtvann i dusjen om morgenen. I tillegg ble ikke rommet redd opp og ordnet til tross for at dette ble bestilt. Flott beliggenhet og hyggelige mennesker trekker opp, men service og fasiliteter trekker ned.

We enjoyed staying two nights at Sun N Sea in early April. We enjoyed both the view of the beach/ ocean as well as the food. We were able to walk along the beach and into town easily. The manger helped us find a store which sells a computer charger. We had accidentally left ours at home. The beds were very comfortable and we all enjoyed surfing lessons.

Bra hotell!

Bra litet hotell som ligger i utkanten av huvudgatan i Unuwatuna. Alla är väldigt trevliga och hjälpsamma. Frukosten är enkel men bra, med ett antal valbara alternativ. Hotellet känns aldrig speciellt hektiskt, vilket är en fördel om man vill koppla av vid vattnet. Den enda nackdelen är om man är känslig för ljud, speciellt under kvällar och tidiga morgnar. Det går en ganska högt trafikerad väg precis utanför, vilket kan vara lite störande om man har svårt att sova när det är ljud runtomkring. Men när man inte hör vägen, så hör man istället vågorna, vilket i sin tur är positivt.

Read if you are considering staying a Unawatuna. I stayed 2 hours of a 3 night booking before I checked out. The hotel itself was ok. Though it looks different to the online photos as the rooms don't have the mosquito netting. The bare decor and stone based bed gave the room a cold uninviting feeling. I took a walk in Unawatuna and felt uncomfortable because it was predominantly white. The only people of color were the restaurant and shop vendors. Clearly very unusual in Sri Lanka. All the menus were in English and Russian. I checked out and moved to Koggala, which is lovely. On doing some much deeper research into Unawatuna, I see my instincts were justified. I would advise people do some news and social media research to check if it's a place for you.

Good choice!

Very nice small hotel, the location and view are wow, which was the first thing attracted us to the hotel as it's literally direct to the beach. The owner is very friendly, also the staff all are very polite and smiling all time, specially Chathuranga is very friendly and smiling. They also have a restaurant in the hotel which I personally recommend it! Nice food options and the prices are very acceptable. The only draw back was the quietness as it was a bit noisy at late night.

Ett underbart hotell intill stranden med fantastisk utsikt. Fantastiskt personal som gjorde allt för att vi, en familj på 4, skulle vara nöjda, vilket vi alla var. Vi stannade en vecka och vi kommer boka in oss så snart vi kan igen. Det var underbart att höra vågorna dygnet runt. Mycket god och prisvärd mat på hotellet. På stranden intill finns också många restauranger. Rekommenderas varmt🌞

We had earlier planned a one-night stay but ended up extending it to one more night as we loved the property a lot. The best things were cleanliness and location. The room was small but with all needed amenities like AC, wardrobe, locker, work desk, cloth stand, and mosquito net ( was very helpful ). The washroom was spacious and very clean. There was a common patio area in front of all rooms where we could get the best view of the sea. Restaurant food was one of the best in Sri Lanka. Highly recommended.

Lovely locally own hotel

It was really lovely, they staff is very helpful and the restaurant serves delicious food. Perfect location near the end of the beach so it’s a little quieter but still close to all the other restaurants and the main beach. I hope to return someday soon!
