"This is an old motel pre-ADA with no elevator to the top floor. The two gentlemen managing were very responsive and polite. My bathroom was new and very nice except that 1) I never got really hot water out of the sink faucet (I did in the shower) and 2) this is an “American Stardard” size bathroom and the detail of the counter made access to the toilet roll holder impossible.
There was an apartment sized refrigerator, very clean, with a top freezer. Bed had clean sheets, but not ironed and wrinkles. The bed was comfortable.
There were, from the car with weeds growing under it, some long term residents. I guess this is needed for a guaranteed cash flow. The lot has two buildings and the dumpster at the back building gives the impression that it is being renovated, but I did not see any construction activity the Thursday and Friday that I was there. There are smokers there, and the smoke detectors do work, but they hang out by the door, or sit in their cars to smoke. When then return to their rooms they bring the smell of smoke with them.
The carpets are old but not yet worn. They are faded, but clean. The ice maker outside of my room was broken. Someone needs to spray weed killer in the pavement cracks. The leaks in the ceiling I saw have been repaired but not repainted.
I was looking for an inexpensive hotel. I got what I paid for. I’m not complaining. I worked in the industry as an architect, so I am very critical. But remember when you go to “no name” budget hotels."
