My husband and I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and overall enjoyed our stay because it has amazing views, unique experience being an actual cave hotel and nice breakfast on the terrace with lovely personnel. I think it's important to mention that it would be great to have a clear signage about where to get checked in and also the rest room for people who can't be checked in yet or already checked out but waiting for time to depart.

We’re so glad we booked this cave hotel nine months in advance, as it has only nine rooms. The cave suites are authentic, with a protective coating on the surfaces to prevent dust from falling. The views from the hotel are absolutely breathtaking! One of the highlights was walking down into the valley with the hotel’s dog, Roxi. She’s such a friendly companion! The chef prepared a delicious breakfast every morning throughout our stay. Ahmet was very helpful and friendly, and he can help with anything you need during the stay. We will definitely stay here again when we return!

Staying in a cave suite was such a special experience and made our trip even more memorable. The room was cozy, comfortable, and beautifully designed, with so much character. This is a real cave hotel unlike a lot of others in Göreme which are Cave in name only. By the standards of living in a cave it is beyond expectations. You do give up some in terms of comfort and space but the experience is unique. You do have to watch your head and steps and there’s a lot of climbing up and down. The staff is really friendly even though not all speak good English. Google Translate helps. The cook Fatima is a joy. Just a wonderful personality even with the language barrier. Alp the night manager is also a very sweet guy. The owner Laura lives right next door and her dog Rocksy is a shameless hedonist! You need to scratch her and give her some love as she’ll be waiting for you at the door. She’s a Goldie Mix with a grey coat. You feel like you’re coming home every time you walk through the door. Ahmed the hotel manager is a fountain of information and very helpful throughout our stay. Do come and enjoy the unique ambiance. When the lights come on after dark it’s quite magical. Don’t stay here if you have some physical conditions. It’s quieter than Göreme and I would pick this over that town any day. It’s only a 10 minute taxi ride if you want to go over but you won’t have to deal with the crowd

Amazing place to stay, away from the busy tourist areas, each room has a beautiful view . A cave house that’s decorated nicely and thoughtfully, delicious freshly prepared breakfast, easy to park your car, very nice and clean room, each room in the house has a character and a charm of its own, multilevel with seating area in every level to enjoy the view of the mountains and the castle around it. Smart details would stay again without a doubt.

Lovely spacious clean and comfortable cave room, beautifully decorated with lots of attention to detail. Clean and modern bathroom with excellent hot shower, (there is no bath), good free wifi, the most beautiful terraces overlooking a gorgeous valley of caves, giving you the most authentic Cappadocian experience! I could just sit there for days! We even had hot air balloons flying directly overhead one morning . Perfect English is spoken as well, and the owner is on hands and ever willing to assist with any questions or advice. The breakfast is authentic Turkish, freshly made daily, with a nice variety of dishes, giving you the opportunity to sample Turkish cuisine!

Potamia Suites hotel is an authentic elevated cave hotel that goes beyond standardized cave suites in Capadocia. The arrival was sublime joined by coffee and pastry with a warm welcomed by the owner. The room was beyond expected, finely decorated as well preserving the rustic feeling of the cave together with a modern touch of elegance with great lighting surrounding the whole room. The bathroom was of the most impressive part of the cave, with a great rounded tub and shower. This property is a shout out for everyone to know, because it holds so many great leisures like a balcony viewing a massive cave wall, a wonderful place where we were offered a beautiful breakfast, with coffee, pastries, and fruits. I will definitely recommend this place not only for the property as a whole, but for the courteous and generosity from the hotel to arrange any of our needs. Many thanks to Potamia Cave Suites for an unforgettable stay in Cappadocia.

“My stay at the Cave Hotel was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, the staff welcomed us with warmth and genuine hospitality that made us feel right at home. The hotel’s unique architecture—rooms carved directly into the rock—was breathtaking and offered an experience like no other. Waking up surrounded by stone walls and natural formations was surreal, blending history with comfort. Every member of the staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. They were attentive without being intrusive, always ready to assist with a smile. What truly made our stay unforgettable was the staff’s passion for hospitality and dedication to making each guest feel special. We left the Cave Hotel not only with beautiful memories but also with gratitude for the team who made it all possible. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Potamia is, without question, the nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. What sets it apart isn’t just the stunning setting or the thoughtful design — it’s the warmth and sincerity of its owner, who is easily one of the kindest, most genuine people I’ve ever met. After just three nights, he felt more like a friend than a host. You quickly realize that Potamia is a true labor of love — a lifelong dream brought to life — and that passion is reflected in every detail. The daily breakfast is nothing short of extraordinary. Using produce grown in their own garden alongside the best of what the region offers, each element is crafted with care and quality. Freshly baked breads, artisanal cheeses, house-made cherry and strawberry jams, decadent cakes (yes, a different homemade cake every morning!), and antipasti like olives and semi-dried tomatoes — it’s an experience unto itself. Honestly, the breakfast alone is worth the stay. Then there’s the view. The hotel overlooks a tranquil valley dotted with ancient cave dwellings and historic ruins. Each morning, you can wander along scenic trails or simply sit back and take in the panorama from your window or the communal terraces. I often found myself torn between exploring Cappadocia or staying put just to soak in the serenity. Originally, I saw Cappadocia as a once-in-a-lifetime destination — something to check off the list. But staying at Potamia, and getting to know the close-knit team behind it, changed that. Thanks for the memories.
