「We had 4 couples and 4 kids, and booked almost 2 years in advance for the eclipse. The Rusty Rio is quaint and what it appears to be....a fun and "campy" spot. The only gripe we had was that when we booked, we filtered rentals that had hot tubs, and hot tub was listed as an amenity. It didn't work, and likely hasn't for many years. 「Stayed two nights to watch the 2024 eclipse and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The pool area with the chaise lounges was perfect for viewing and the river was a nearby alternative. We spent most of our time at the patio table watching the deer and relaxing. The kitchen was well-appointed and we cooked dinner both nights we were there. The bathrooms were clean and the shower had great water pressure. The only negative was the unreliable wifi. Two of our party had to find other accommodations...

「This house is amazing! The design is ideal - every room has a bathroom. The kitchen, living, and dining area was large and really family friendly. My kids favorite part was the large pool and outdoor kitchen area which included a TV. In the mornings, you could sit outside with your coffee and watch deer and other wildlife. Also… the mattresses were amazing!」

The place was very comfortable, with plenty of space both inside and out to socialize or take some quiet time to yourself. 「Quiet, comfortable and unique building. The kitchen and bathrooms are well stocked, for everything else Hondo has what you need - from Walmart to local restaurants (+ San Antonio isn’t far away). The pool and patio were the perfect size to cool off at the end of a warm summer day. The property managers meant what they said, “call if you need anything”. We used the pool (heated) and hot tub a lot. The firepit is a hit for smores and volleyball court is a definitely a plus. 「The bungalow is amazing. Everything you could ever need plus more. We brought our 2 yellow labs with us. The back yard was perfect for running and playing. There are lots of places to take them for walks and Bandera is pretty dog friendly too. If you are contemplating this place, go for it, you won’t be disappointed and neither will your pups!」

「This little cabin is exactly what we were hoping for! Secluded, great covered patios in front and back, and back patio is so relaxing! Hummingbird feeder, bird feeders and birdbath all get a lot of activity, plus a great view of the deer, turkeys and hogs when they come out to eat. This place had everything we needed…charcoal grill, cookware, coffee, etc. very clean as well. Buddy the cat was great company too! Definitely would come back!」

「The wife and I took some time away from work to enjoy our 33rd Anniversary. We couldn’t have picked a better spot. Quiet and secluded. Nice viewing deck up the hill and a small pond around back.
