This unique and cozy cabin is located approx 19 miles north of Valdez on the Richardson Highway at the base of Thompson Pass. This accommodation offers world class access to “The Snow Capitol of Alaska”. Allwheel/4x4 is mandatory in winter. Others may ski, snowmobile or walk the access road. In summer (may-oct) the access is a gravel road that any car/truck can drive.

The location is a highlight of this listing. You are minutes away from Thompson Pass and Keystone Canyon.

Incredible location halfway between town of Valdez and Thompson Pass that makes for an easy drive for skiing, hiking, fishing, trips to town, etc. It is a cabin with cabin amenities - enough dishes to cook simple meals, running water with shower, and an easy to use heater that keeps the place pretty warm even in subzero tempsThe place was a little different than expected via photos - nothing devastating. Different couch than was pictured that did not have the chaise which made for slightly less seating. Upstairs is all open air (no rooms/closing doors) with a double bed on one level and a single bed on a slightly higher level. No Xbox in the place, as pictured.

Perfect location for a valdez getaway. We were there during a high wind power outage and the host was responsive and accommodating. The cabin is cozy, warm and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

We absolutely loved our stay here. It's always stressful finding places who are pet friendly but this one was exceptional. The only "issue"(not a problem you can't overcome) is the loft ladder is too steep for pets to climb. It was a peaceful, relaxing stay and we would book again in the future if available.
