Titel: Large - crowded - noisy - poor maintenance
The Hotel de Susanna is a large hotel housing two very large event halls for larger receptions or wedding parties. The noise of the loud speakers and the loud music is coming directly into all bedrooms of the guests. Because there is no sound barrier between the event hall and the reception hall. You can start sleeping only with ear plugs.
The pools are also very large and the noise from outside is also extrem, because swim school book the pools.
In our suite we had only cold water, because the water boiler was defect. The newly installed used boiler went also defect with a huge flashlight throwing all fuses out.
I finished my shower with cold water in the dark.
It is rare that I make bad comments but this time I got angry.
Sorry
Stefan
The hotel seemed a bit rundown and cleanliness didn't seem to be a priority. They were doing work by the main stairs and the scaffolding presented a tripping hazard.
They were also fumigating and making a lot of noise even after 10pm. I had to ask them to stop because people were already trying to sleep.
I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

Staycation
The bed was not that comfy. Bedsheets used were of very low quality. Only one sheet used as bed cover and one very thin sheet as blanket. Wifi was very slow. No working telephone inside the room. Not worth the price.

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service
If you like cold food and bad service stay here
The receptionist on arrival was great. I had to ask for the lights to be turned on in the corridor upstairs because it wasn’t done. The service in the restaurant was terrible. The food was cold. There were birds flying freely in the restaurant with no attempt to get them out. My food order came out with items missing and never ordered with the kitchen. The Staff didn’t seem to be interested in anything and gave me the wrong beer 2 times. They looked totally bored the whole time.
Very unclean. We checked out a day early because it was truly that bad. We had a total of two towels and the both had holes and smelled like mildew. I rarely give a bad review but I have to be honest.
Is there anything not disgusting in this hotel?? Well: The breakfast was actually very good.
From the moment you enter this property you get dazzled by grandness. Ten entrance way, grand lobby and even the room itself is enormous.. It could easily be one of the most impressive hotels in the country, if it weren't for the terrible state it's in. Bed sheets, seats, bathroom.. even the floor was disgusting. We named the large cockroach in our room "conny" as a joke, but we even didn't dare using the water as the tap seemed to explode on first use (indicating it not being used for a long time and probably containing salmonella).
The pools were great, very well maintained and clean. Upon entry into the main entry there was water leakage from the ceiling in many places. We ordered the presidential suite and we paid a very high price for this room, but thinking it was the last room available it was the best. How wrong we were. One slightly larger than average room with a couch and a double bed. No security deposit box, room service phone was dead, the tv was blasting loud and no batterys to use the remote control. They said they would replace but never did. Weirdest thing was the wardrobe was inside the bathroom. Bathroom was one of the worst we stayed at for the price tag. The plumbing was terrible. Water kept stalling and stopping in the shower. Hot to cold very fast. The walls were absolutely filthy. Smudge marks from dirty hands and lipstick decorated the walls. They boasted about breakfast but when we arrived we had a small menu and only one meal to choose. I ordered need tapas which was a small plate with half cup of rice and for small slices of beef. Along with a third of a slice of pineapple and a egg. The coffee was free with the orange juice but staff would not refill the almost empty jugs unless more guests arrived. So basically we drank 2 small glasses. Staff would not assist you once your breakfast was served. Upon checking out we complained to staff who already knew about the room problems. But sorry no refunds or partial refunds. The whole experience was absolutely terrible. Scammed good
It’s uncomfortable and lack of good services ,no tv connection and cable, the room is not clean, the pool is not working. And the staff is not knowledgeable of there job.So I’m very disappointed and I can’t recommend this hotel to my friends and relatives.
No hot water, asked about it and they said they would send someone up to look at it, they never came, I asked if they cleaned the rooms daily and gave fresh towels daily, they said yes, but never once in my 4 day stay did they come in and clean the room or give fresh towels. The tv in my room stopped working after the first day, the pool was nice, it actually had warm water.
The photos did not match the room at all, so we paid extra to upgrade to the “presidential suite”.
It was large, but poorly maintained, with threadbare towels, a sticky floor, leaking sink, and missing fixtures/appliances. We requested to be moved to another room. The replacement room was cleaner. Showers were lukewarm with barely adequate pressure. Beds were too short - I am 183cm and my feet poked out. They have odd-shaped duvets without covers. Room soundproofing was poor towards the corridors - we were woken early every morning by loud voices and people running outside our room.
We were surprised to learn there was no daily room make-up service, apparently it was on request only. We requested it on our third day. They did not replace our towels or replace the empty toilet paper - I think all they did was make the bed. They also left our balcony door open the whole day allowing mosquitos to enter. Our requests for new towels, toilet paper and anti-mosquito spray were handled promptly.
Breakfast was very limited local fare - rice and fish/meat, although they did offer some of their not-usually-included a la carte options when we asked about it.
Service in the restaurant was good, but availability of menu items was poor. I would instead recommend heading over the road to the Roadhouse Cafe if you stay here.
Swimming pools were mixed - one seemed very clean, one was slightly greenish, and one was very green and not in use.
