Singular Stays Mercado Central XIII

Splendid choice for a perfect holiday in Valencia. This duplex penthouse consists of a beautiful terrace of 12m² equipped with beautiful garden furniture, which overlooks the beautiful dining room decorated with beams on the ceiling and light wood furniture. It has 3 bedrooms and can accommodate 7 people, making it a great choice for a stay with family or friends.

This apartment has the perfect location: in the historic centre of the city of Valencia, specifically up the street from the Mercado Central. Today it is both an important space for the sale of fresh produce, as well as a great cultural and touristic attraction for foreign visitors and even for the Valencians themselves. Within walking distance, you will find the Plaza de la Virgen and its cathedral, as well as an infinity of restaurants and hotels. The lungs of the city are at a short 15-minute walk away, los Jardines del Turia, the old river bed that goes through the city west to east, from the Bioparc to the City of Arts and Sciences.

Our experience with this apartment was extremely disappointing due to the terrible customer service. During our stay, a pipe in the apartment burst due to poor maintenance, flooding the place and ruining much of our clothing and personal belongings. It was a very stressful situation. What made it even worse was the lack of support from the management. Instead of helping us find a solution, we had to look for another place to stay by ourselves. Eventually they offered compensation, but it was the absolute minimum and nowhere near enough to cover the damages and the inconvenience we went through. The owner of the building initially promised a reasonable compensation for the damages and the trouble caused, but later completely backed out of that promise. It felt like their word meant nothing. Overall, this was a very frustrating and unfair experience. I would strongly advise others not to stay here. There are many better places where guests are treated with respect and responsibility.

Trust the negative reviews

To add, there was no shampoo in the bathroom, no salt, no pepper, no oil, no spices of any kind. I was told since it was not mentioned in the listing, they did not have to be provided. This not how it works. You need to mention that you don't provide them. It only cost us a few Euros to get them for a market not too far but it's a hassle. Then the place was almost impossible to find with no one to help or guide. Read other negative reviews, including the smell of the sewage. We couldn't wait to leave.

Nice apartment in great location

The property is in a great location, easily accessible for the central market, cathedral, restaurants and bars. It's good quality with comfortable beds. The area is mainly pedestrianised so not noisy. The balcony is in the shade all day.

Great location

The department itself was very good, well maintained and quick response to requests. Check-in was harder than expected (we arrived on Sunday which makes is harder), had difficulty paying in advance with non-Spanish credit card (but it worked once in their office).

Ideal location for a visit to Valencia

We enjoyed our stay at this property. It was clean, comfortable and exactly as depicted on the site. The location was ideal, within easy walking distance to good food and sites in the old town.

Nice place but small for 7

The extra bed is a sofa bed and wasn’t confortable. The terrace is really nice. The check in proccess was gard as they did not respond to phone or email but at least they were at the company desk and were nice.

Le limpieza de la cocina y los dormitorios era muy justa, el apartamento muy buena situacion solo dan un juego de llaves para 7 personas, les pedimos otra y no nos dieron. La calefaccion no funcionaba y nos la arreglaron enaeguida.

Fantastic location!

This apartment is nice, it's on the top floor of a very centrally located building, within walking distance of all the old town sites to see in Valencia. It was also clean and renovated nicely. Parking is available, but has to be booked in advance as it's in another location and not attached to the building. This wasn't a huge problem for us because you can't really do much driving around the old town anyway, and if you want to go to the Art and Science building it's easy to walk to or a very cheap taxi ride away. The one thing to keep in mind is that the apartment building is very difficult to get to if you're driving. The actual street can only be accessed by foot. There's a square close by where you can load your luggage out of your car, but be careful of driving into or parking in restricted areas. The streets are often one way and very confusing. Overall, a nice stay in Valencia.
