Lovely stay in Valletta
The property was exactly as described. Beautiful authentic Maltese apartment. Was exactly what we hoped for. Location was perfect and James was very helpful and informative. I would recommend it for anyone who wants a true Maltese experience in Valletta.

A Trip Back in Time
Hotels and VRBO flats can be found everywhere in Valletta, a piece of history is another story. Staying here is like time travel, an experience, the Maltese magic. Truly special stay in this authentic Maltese property. You could feel the history literally peeling off the walls. A unique and once in a lifetime experience. I won’t repeat what is referred to in other reviews. The moment we walked in we were captured by the magic of 500-years of history. If you’re looking for a unique experience, feeling history, and creating a travel memory, this is the place for you. If you’re looking for a “sterile” typical “North American” stay, not sure this is for you. Our hosts, James and Jacob, we’re best of class; helpful, informative, and available at all times.

1 semaine à la Valette
Merveilleuse infrastructure, typique maltaise, classé au patrimoine de l’UNESCO. Logement très chaleureux sur trois étages (avoir des cuisses bien armées). Malheureusement, la dernière pièce est au sous sol donc à prendre en compte qu’il faut manger, faire a manger et se laver dans l’humidité et la chaleur, bien que cette pièce est bien agencée et a énormément de charme. Il faut également noter les désagréments classiques et je dirais même presque inévitable de La Valette, les blattes. Néanmoins, nous avons eu la chance que le propriétaire traite les canalisations (elles arrivent morte dans la pièce). De plus, très bien placé pour le bord de mer, les courses et l’allée commerciale. Le propriétaire est extrêmement sympa, réactif et à l’écoute. Points forts : -très bon emplacement de l’appartement au centre de La Valette et de la plage; - architecture Maltaise; - salon cosy; - très bon propriétaire. Points faibles : - pas de climatisation, uniquement deux ventilateurs à disposition (rez-de-chaussée et chambre); - très forte humidité au sous-sol (cuisine, salle de bain, toilette). - plafond qui s’effrite au rez-de-chaussée, dans la chambre et au sous-sol (attention au linge étendu).

Nous venions passer une semaine à malte pour notre anniversaire de mariage. James nous avait laissé une petite attention à la maison pour l’occasion à notre arrivée. De même, il nous a donné plusieurs adresses où nous rendre. La maison est idéalement située, mignonne comme tout, fonctionnelle et surtout ... d’une propreté impeccable. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir.

Historic place with fantastic location!
It was easy to book and easy to find. Fantastic historic home in the old neighborhood in a great location near Fort Saint Elmo. Easy walking distance to the main sites. The apartment is very cute, well-maintained, and a delight to be in! When I come back to Valetta I will definitely stay there again!

Beautiful house and great location.
Fantastic house ,very beautiful and extremely comfortable. Location is great with a very steep walk up to the centre of Valletta. The house is surrounded by shops and easy reach to bars and restaurants. Would highly recommend a stay here but be aware that if you have any mobility issues maybe the location is not for you . We would definitely return if we were to visit in the future.

Fantastic stay in Valletta!
My mum and I stayed a week at Jame's apartment which was very well located in the city (within 5-10 mins of the toen centre and 15 mins walk from the bus station), there were plnety of places to eat nearby as well as shop locally. We loved the apartment with its decor and would definately recommended anyone else staying here.

Our beautiful historical 500-year-old Maltese medieval house got its first negative review in 9 years, Our house is a registered cultural property and is being protected for present and future generations. Many guests tell us it was an honor to stay in such a historical house. We believe our house is booked all year round as the house is one of the few holiday homes that is authentically Maltese not a modern flat. The guest did not specify what she found so uncomfortable so i can not comment but we wish our guest many happy holidays.

Excellent stay in Valletta
We enjoyed our week in this very authentic old house that is well appointed and noticeably loved by its owner. James was very attentive to our needs and arranged both pick up and drop off to the airport. As mentioned by other reviewers the house is spread over 3 levels ,the steps between floors we managed with ease. Ventilation in the bottom floor where the kitchen is was limited so we were a little hestitant to cook much more than eggs for breakfast. We loved being part of the neighbourhood accessing bread, fruit, vege,wine and anything else we needed all within a block of the house. A little bar -Gugar.. around the corner in Republica Street was our finishing point most day... highly recommend...great food and cheap drinks. Thanks James for having us.

Ideal location, traditional house, perfect!
The accommodation is 10 mins walk into Valetta, close to ferries and bus station. Traditional house, beautifully furnished with all that you need. Communication with James/Paul was immediate and friendly. Could not have asked for a better location and we enjoyed our stay (our third time in Malta) immensely. Nearby. Restaurants in Republik street offer superb meals and there are plenty to chose from.

Ca. 500 Jahre altes Haus, modern ausgestattet auf drei Etagen. Mitten im Szeneviertel Valetta, 5 Gehminuten zum Präsidentenpalast und Zentrum. Viele Sehenswürdigkeiten, nette und hilfsbereite Leute.

Fabulous, like stepping back in time!
Loved the apartment, it was so old, with gorgeous stone, beams, aesthetically pleasing authentic, a charming place to stay for one week. Liked the arched walls, added to its antiquity. The fans were great for the hot nights. I appreciated the fact that there was milk when we arrived particularly as we arrived around midnight. The owner also had two kinds of cereal for the guests. Everything was there that we needed including a nice hot shower! The apartment was spotless, couldn't fault it, just watch out for the low stone ceiling when going down the steps as you could hit your head. It's located quite close to the centre and there is a shop around the corner. There are a lot of steps and they are uphill so be prepared for a lot of walking. There is a lot to see in Valletta: museums, palaces, 5D movie theatre etc so you won't be bored and the panoramic views are breathtaking. The bus terminal is quite near, at the top of republic street and it's quite cheap to travel. There are an abundance of shops and restaurants to choose from with octopus being a popular choice on the menu! Take care to bring repellent as I saw many people with insect bites! Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable stay!!

La casa è davvero bella e particolare, suggestiva e romantica. Comoda e vivibile per due persone. A due passi dal centro, ma in una via tranquilla, pur con le finestre aperte si dorme bene senza rumori, calandosi nella vera vita maltese, con vicini simpatici che salutano e con cui fare quattro chiacchiere. Nelle immediate vicinanze ci sono tutti i negozi che possono servire. Dotata di ogni confort, è la sistemazione ideale per chi ama la vacanza non esclusivamente balneare. La consiglio!!!

A traditional Maltese home.
Great base to stay in Valletta with easy access to everything around you. I would say it is approximately a 20 min walk to either Sliema or Senglea ferry as well as to the Valletta bus station - you need to head up hill on Republic Street to the station. The buses will take you anywhere on the island and are excellent value. The house has three levels and those stairs kept us fit. The house was clean and tastefully decorated and gave the feeling of an authentic Maltese home. Basement level you will find the kitchen, shower room and toilet. Shower room and toilet are behind two archways - the toilet archway is very low and took a little getting used to - you do need to bend down for this one. Entrance level is the living room. Sofa and TV. First floor you have the bedroom. All that you need is in there. Hairdryer, iron / iron board / clothes airer are in the wardrobe. This home is the ideal size for two people. As mentioned by another reviewer you will hear the locals very early in the morning going about their day to day lives. Another reviewer also pointed out that James arranged for a driver to take us to the house and back to the airport at the end of our stay. Made our arrival / departure so much easier. Dining out there are many restaurants up Republic and Merchant Street, including the many side streets of Valletta - just let your feet take you there. If you wish to do your own cooking and food shopping then I would recommend The Food Market behind the Presidents Palace. The shops near the house have a very limited range and were quite pricey compared to the Food Market. Level one has a number of restaurants whilst the basement has a wider range of supermarket items. This was the first time for us to visit Malta and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I am sure we will be drawn back again for a visit.

A comfortable and well appointed apartment close to the centre of the city. Everything you need for a pleasant stay is within easy walking distance. The owner, James, was very helpful and accommodating, even arranging our airport transfer for us.

Bellissima casa in centro
Casa molto bella e particolare, su tre piani, nel centro di Valletta. Ben accessoriata, pulita comodissima per i mezzi pubblici, da qui si può tranquillamente visitare tutta l'isola con i bus. Quartiere silenzioso ad un passo dal centro dove si trovano negozi, bar e ristoranti. Complimenti al proprietario per il recupero dell'immobile e per il gusto nell'arredamento. Se dovessi tornare a Malta la sceglierei di nuovo.

Old Maltese Town House with Character
The house is lovely and in a great location, you will hear the neighbours early morning going aboutwithin easy walking distance to the sea, up the hill you will find the shops, bars and restaurants in Valletta, the harbour and central bus station are a warm 15-20 min stroll away. We discovered that due to the age of the house, particularly when it was very windy that everything was covered in a layer of dust/sand. The bedroom is situated on the 1st floor, where you will find a hairdryer in the drawers and under the wardrobe, leftover suncreams etc, the entrance door & lounge are on the ground floor and the kitchen, dining table, shower & toilet are in the basement, there is a de-humidifier which helps. There isn't any air-con in the house but there are 2 fans which help to circulate the air, we found the one in the bedroom invaluable. The WiFi was excellent, although the phone signal was weak, due to the thick stone walls and surrounding buildings.

E un'antica abitazione su 3 piani, con pareti e scale di pietra, bisogna apprezzarla per la sua particolare, comodissima, localizzazione nel vecchio centro storico di Malta.Nonostante il caldo torrido, è risultata fresca e silenziosa. L'arredamento è ben curato. Ideale per due viaggiatori non convenzionali. Grande disponibilità e cortesia da parte del proprietario e di Paul.

Great spacious apartment highlighting all the history and old charm Valletta has to offer. The place was clean and comfortable with great amenities. Easy to get around the city and a nice 10 minute walk to the main bus terminal for public transit all over the island. Would stay again if I ever make it back that way. Jim also arranged pick up at the airport for a good price, and friendly driver. Thanks Jim, had wonderful stay
