Hotel Blu Vancouver – June 15-16 Stay
Check-in was great — I wish I remembered the name of the gentleman who helped us because he was absolutely amazing: welcoming, professional, and a fantastic start to our stay.
Unfortunately, a later interaction with another staff member, Melissa, completely changed the tone of our experience. My husband and I brought my cousin and his wife back to the hotel with us to hang out for a bit, but we were stopped at the counter and told they couldn’t come up. We were then told we’d need to pay extra to register additional guests.
While I understand that policies are in place for a reason, the way Melissa spoke to us was condescending and incredibly disrespectful — like we were children being scolded. It was upsetting, not just for me, but also for my husband and our guests who witnessed it. The tone and delivery were completely unprofessional and made us feel uncomfortable and embarrassed.
This experience has left a sour taste, and I will be seriously reconsidering any future stays here. I’ll also be sharing my experience with friends and family — because while great service makes a stay memorable, poor treatment like this is hard to forget.
