The San Giacomo apartments in Venice are three elegant properties in an ancient sixteenth century building in the sestiere Santa Croce, far from the crowds of tourists, immersed in a genuine Venetian atmosphere. The ideal location, quiet but just a short distance from this wonderful city’s main attractions, is one of the advantages of these apartments, all of which have an equipped outdoor area. The apartment "Terrazza", on the second floor includes a bright living room, a kitchen, a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a bathroom with shower. This renovated property boasts an elegant, welcoming interior in classical Venetian style, as well as an exclusive terrace under the shade of a sweet smelling wisteria, with views over the bell tower of the church of San Giacomo dell'Orio and the delightful garden below. The property is just a short walk from the Rialto market, the Frari Church, the San Giovanni Evangelista school, the 'Ca Pesaro Modern Art Gallery, as well as the vaporetto stop on the Riva di Biasio on the Grand Canal, and many shops, bars, taverns, restaurants and the characteristic bacari, where you can taste cicheti accompanied by excellent wines.

Venice -

This was a beautiful and charming apartment. Location was excellent and well away from the hordes at Piazza San Marco - note it is about a 30 min walk to get there. If you come by train, it is a short walk from Stazione Santa Lucia across the Ponte Scalzi. We had several meals out on the private terrace. The trellis had a few wisteria blooms left when we went in early June. The terrace overlooked a quiet garden in full bloom. Kitchen well supplied. Washing machine worked. There is a clothes drying rack supplied as well as laundry soap. Keep in mind there are no screens on the windows and there are mosquitos in Venice! Mostly we did not need A/C but it was handy the last 2 nights when the weather turned humid and warm at night. A/C machine is a window mount unit - a bit tricky to secure the pipe. We all enjoyed the Santa Croce neighbourhood - the nearby Campiello del Piovan where the closest grocery - Coop was located - was full of families and community gathering every evening. There was also a tiny fruit stand around the corner and pastry shop as well. Upon leaving we were able to take the airport water taxi from San Stie dock - although it is a different ticket than the vaporetto! The payment via bank wire transfer was difficult but worked in the end. Would have been much easier to use a credit card instead. We were a family of 4 staying in Venice - we would definitely return again! Thank you for having us.

Slightly off the beaten path

Great little place off the beaten path. Quiet neighborhood. Easy walk to shops, coffee, wine and many restaurant options. The balcony is so private and has a beautiful view of the garden. We loved our time here!

Very nice property

Place was in a very good location close to train station for easy out of town trips and easy transfer to airport. Good restaurants near by and very nice sights. Apartment was quite nice especially the balcony and shared garden. The beds could have been a bit more comfortable and cooling was by portable air conditioners which was fine but worth mentioning. We really liked the old charm of the place, high celings and old beams which added to the feeling of being in Venice.

Ravissant appartement très cosy. Le gout italien est là. Exposition est/ ouest (soleil le matin) très agŕéable. Situation dans Santa Crocce, en bordure du Grand Canal (vaporetto 1) impeccable. Petit bémol, pas de lave vaisselle et une seule chaine francaise disponible (France 24, pas terrible)

Lovely apartment in “real” Venice neighborhood

We loved our stay in Laura’s tasteful, comfortable apartment. Everything was as pictured and the terrace was a wonderful place for morning coffee or relaxing at the end of the day. The apartment is very quiet but in a neighborhood with a great mix of bars and restaurants nice for visitors, but also clearly home to lots of Venetians. Communication with Laura was always prompt and helpful, and her on-site assistant Elizabetta even came out and found us in the pouring rain when we got lost the first day. Elizabetta also provided wonderful restaurant and shopping tips in the neighborhood to help us settle in. One note – this property requires wire transfer payment in two installments prior to arrival. Many travel guide books, and even our bank, warned us to make sure we weren’t falling for a some scam since wire transfers have been implicated in rip-offs. This is definitely not a scam, but sending wire transfers instead of other methods of payment did involve a couple of trips to the bank for us. We would absolutely stay in this property again, but it would have been helpful to have known about the wire transfer requirement ahead of time.

Bel appartement confortable

accueil avenant, instructions précises, recommandations avisées, disponibilité d'Elizabetha. Appartement très agréable, aéré, fenêtré pour profiter de la lumière naturelle, équipé d'une terrasse surplombant un magnifique jardin, idéale pour les repas, l'apéro, lire... De plus l'appartement est situé un peu en retrait de l'agitation touristique, bien que l'on y retrouve a proximité, plusieurs bons restaurants, marché d'alimentation, marchand de vin, boulangerie, pâtisserie, fruiterie,etc. Nous avons passé une excellente semaine dans cet endroit charmant.
