Disappointed stay

Hotels.com advised of free parking and of the City Tax On arrival, I was told the the City Tax was €7.50 and that parking was €8.50. The room was cool, there was no soap in the shower , and the water was luke warm. Apart from that the location was very convenient for the train to Venice

Cheap and acceptable

It was acceptable for the price but not fully enjoyable. The city tax is not included so keep that in mind!

Worst service ever, STAY AWAY

We had booked this for one night. We rang the owner at 8:45pm to let them know our flights were delayed, meaning we wouldnt arrive until 12/1am. The owner said ‘ok fine thank you’. When we arrived, we found the apartment block easily and rang the bell. We then rang the owner after 5 minutes of waiting. No one answered the phone. We received a whatsapp message from the number saying to ring a different number, which we did and also had no reply. This carried on with several numbers for quite some time. A resident of the building came out, and we went into the building after. We found the accommodation we had paid for, but despite seeing light under the door, and hearing voices and movement inside, noone answered the door when we knocked and rang the bell. We continued to whatsapp the person who had replied, but after 45 minutes were told that noone was working anymore so we wouldnt be let into the accommodation, leaving two girls stranded on their first night in italy. In hindsight, it is apparent that the first phone call was not understood from the BB staystation employees. A simple:pardon/dont understand would have been better to avoid confusion. Thankfully, AO hostel is on the same road and were more than welcoming to help us get out of the mess caused by BB staystation, and helped us to find good accommodation for the night. Stay away from BB staystation at all costs! We are awaiting a full reimbursement for the room we werent able to use+extra costs incurred.

Good value for money - but beware the extra tax

Unfortunately I did not see the review from another customer before arriving in Mestre; we too were charged considerably more for city tax than we were expecting (30 euros for 4 days). Despite this, the hotel was good value for money: 170 euros including taxes for 3 people for 4 nights. It is ideally situated for a trip to Venice; 30 seconds away from the bus/train/tram stop into the heart of Venice (only about 15 minutes by bus). A good pizzeria opposite. The accommodation is a flat in a residential block; the manager is not on the premises overnight (unless guests are checking in). This should not have been a problem except that when we were there one of the other guests had a meltdown and was running up and down the corridor screaming and sobbing at 4 in the morning. A kitchen is provided (available until 7 pm) which is a bonus.
