Right, this hotel is cheap & cheerful. If you’re looking for a budget hotel where the bed is clean & the toilet is clean you cannot do wrong. Are the rooms small(ish), the one I stayed in had a small bedroom and decent sized bathroom, the shower looked as if it had been through 2 wars but the temperature and pressure were very good, cracked seals meant water was spraying everywhere at one point, but that’s what a shower is meant to do (isn’t it?) We only did an overnight so it was great for us, any more than 2 nights and you might have cabin fever. The breakfast was adequate, petit pan rolls, croissants, some cooked ham & sliced cheese and all served with coffee/tea & juice. There is yoghurt for those craving a healthier option. On the whole I would recommend Hotel Pantaloon, if you’re not going to be using your room for anything other than sleeping and shower, it ticks several boxes…this ain’t the Ritz or the Ivy but it certainly fits the bill for several budgets.

Once we arrived from the almost hour long boat from the airport, the hotel was easy to find and the location was good for our 2 days in Venice, easy to walk to the areas we wanted. Check in was not ready at the posted time. There was no elevator and we had to carry our bags upstairs. The room was small and crowded, the desk holding the tv was just in the way and the tv (we didn’t watch anyway) was facing away from the beds. The biggest issue was the bathroom. There was no shower curtain in the tiny space so everything got wet. To sit on the toilet you could not have the window open as it was in your back. Your knees were under the sink and if you were anything above average weight you would not be able to sit on the toilet properly. There was a balcony but it was a high wall with no view. It was warm so we needed the windows open, this meant we could hear the next room clearly as they needed the windows open too.

La salle de bain n’était pas très propre : le rideau de douche était moisi et me touchait lorsque je me lavais. Le personnel était très gentil et la décoration était typiquement italienne, dans une ambiance vénitienne. L’hôtel est très bien situé.

Læs: Super beliggenhed!!! Som det perfekte sted midt i byen og midt i mellem ro, skønheder og liv. Hotellet om man kan kalde det det, var et gammelt hus. Men de var søde og der manglede ikke noget, men meget slidt og gammelt. Igen beliggenhed perfekt og hvem tager til Venedig for at ligge på et hotel værelse!!

Ottima posizione facilmente raggiungibile dalla stazione, anche con bambini. Si trova vicino a diversi ristoranti e locali, e arrivare a Rialto o piazza San Marco non è complesso. Stanza bellina, ordinata e comoda, un po’ rumoroso l’impianto di condizionamento.

The roof deck is no longer open. The staff who serve breakfast are nicer than the front desk staff. Many things, including the toilet seat, need repair. For one person to move around the bed, the other person must retreat to the bathroom. The AC works, with assistance.

Service d’accueil agréable et très disponible. Emplacement pratique, à une distance raisonnable de la gare et de la station de bus de Santa Lucia, et bien situé au centre de Venise. Cependant, quelques bouts d’ongles ont été trouvés au sol dans la chambre à notre arrivée, ce qui est peu hygiénique. De plus, les équipements ne sont pas à la hauteur du prix.

The room was very clean except some dust on the light fixtures. Kind staff, authentic Venetian feel with the windows overlooking the walkways and into the next building over. The bed was very uncomfortable, but the room was small and lovely, nice old bathroom. It was an antique feel. Remove the electricity and it could have been 1792. Walking there in the middle of the night from the north is a little sketchy if alone, but overall a good spot to spend the night. It’s a decent walk from the main attractions, but has some yummy restaurants nearby. I would stay there again. The reception staff were each kind, helpful and quirky in their own ways which added to the charm. Don’t expect lush accommodations, but if you are looking for an authentic feel this is a good spot.
