Many thanks to Leonardo for letting us stay in his amazing period family home. We had a wonderful time with both France and Italy on the doorstep. The highlight was the swimming pool and views plus the very well located shop at the bottom of the drive (much needed for 5 hungry teenagers!).
Couple of issues on the first day but most were cleared up immediately by Leonardo.
Thank you again.
We were a family of 5 adults and we absolutely loved this property! The owners were warm, charming and helpful ( yet not at all intrusive) and the property itself is a magical and authentic glimpse into Italian and Saracen history. The terraces, pool and outdoor spaces are breathtakingly beautiful and the interiors are spacious, refined, elegant and just perfect for an adult family to spread out and enjoy each other yet have some individual space to be alone and quiet. We enjoyed many meals together under the beautiful trellises and spent many evenings playing pétanque, star-gazing, and just listening to music against a backdrop of olive trees and the whisper of wind in the trees. I recommend Villa Corinna wholeheartedly and hope to return ❤️

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
5* - Enchanting historic villa, garden, pool, sea view, and local area in Italy and France
10/10 - A very special vacation in this magical tower/villa and a perfect place to visit both the Italian Riviera and French Riviera from. Whilst here we visited Bordighera, Ventimiglia, and San Remo in Italy and Menton, Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, Monaco, Eze, Vence and Nice in France.
Prior to arrival, Leonardo (brilliant host) got in touch to arrange meeting us at the border. Arriving on the Italian side, just across from Menton, we were kindly greeted and followed his 1960's Mini Moke for a few minutes drive to the villa - it really is very easy to get to.
We were 8 guests with and the villa slept us all comfortably. Upon entering the private road up the hill to the main entrance, we parked the cars (4 cars was fine) and entered into the villa through terraced gardens of olive trees, tall cypress trees, eucalyptus, and pine trees whilst catching a glimpse of the pétanque pit!
The 1st floor is comprised of a large living room with french doors that open out onto the large terrace to sunbathe, dine, bbq, entertain and watch the view of the Piana Di Latte and the sea towards Bordighera, Ventimiglia. The pictures are accurately presented on the website but it requires seeing in-person to fully appreciate how tasteful everything really is. The marble stairs throughout, mosaic floors, antique furniture etc. It is at once, grand, rustic and refined.
The living room has an old grand piano, comfortable chairs, an old vinyl player and a set of records that Leonardo kindly invited us to use. Through this room, the adjacent dining/breakfast room can be found with its own set of doors leading out onto the terrace and the kitchen which features a good modern gas oven and a large modern fridge as well as dishwasher and washing machine.
On the way up the stairs, there is a small toilet which has an amazing view up into the branches of the impressive old olive trees that flank the entrance. The three main bedrooms can be found on the 2nd floor. Each is a large room with a great view out to the garden/terrace/sea. Outside the three bedrooms, there is a bathroom with a large walk-in shower, toilet, double sink and window view out to the pool which is bathed in golden sunlight in the morning (the pool and pool area was incredible).
Up to the roof terrace and there is a 360-view of the hills the sea and surroundings. The terrace features a shaded area and a hammock outside the entrance to the last double bedroom and lounge area with its own bathroom/shower.
Great pool in a unique property situated in a small village with great views over the Med.
We pick this property mainly for the pool and the view. We were after a house on the Riviera where the children could swim while we chilled.
The house is rather unique and gave an extra character to the holiday. The two real pluses were the views from the top of the tower but by far the 100m large balcony which had both shade and sun.
The house was clean and cool during the days, while the kitchen was small it had all the commodities required to cook meals.
The property had a rather cool entrance and a rather steep hill. The property felt secure and is situated away from the main road.
The property managers were very hospitable and answered all queries via whattsapp in a short space of time.
Latte is very busy in the morning hours with traffic but then it settles down. The local supermarket does have everything you will need. Great morning bread for breakfast.
Checked the beach on Google prior to the visit but the actual beach was a positive surprise. The photos you see on the week show a stony beach. The stones however stop at the water line and the beach becomes firm golden sand when you are in the water. A small public fresh water shower is available.
Great location with larger towns a few kilometres to the west or east of Latte.
We were a family of 5 but easily two families of 4 would have room and a nice time.
Negatives of the house.
1. Early morning traffic, but you soon sleep on or wake up and enjoy the balcony even more.
2. The train does not stop in Latte which makes travelling in the evening by car only. ( I was driving but I soon took a glass of wine on our return).
Positives
1. The pool, great pool. Deep for diving but shallow (80cm) at the other end.
2. The views over the bay.
The property is expensive but when you are there and by the pool with the view during the summer. Life is great.

Splendida Villa Corinna

Lovely villa on the border of Monaco and Italy
A villa seeded in history with period charm and great views of the sea. The rooms are very large and the terrace overlooking the sea is lovely. The area surrounding the villa has very nice restaurants and beaches. The owners were very helpful and charming. We had a great time and certainly planning to return in the future.

A truly unspoiled gem
The Villa was magnificent with original features. The views were breathtaking. The rooms are large and nicely furnished and the see can be seen from all the rooms in the villa. Nice outdoor area accessible to kitchen which is well equipped. The owner is very helpful and on site for any problem. A couple of glitches were taken care of immediately. There is a supermarket very nearby in which all the shopping from fresh to cooked to drinks and more can be found. The location is great and there is access to great restaurants both in Italy and France. We enjoyed the boat trip which could be organised separately. Everything was informal and restful. The host/owner family were charming and could speak English which was an advantage. The villa is very famous locally.

Wonderful
The views are amazing, the location is great, the host was there for any questions. The house is a 16th century tower so it doesn't have all the modern amenities but it was what we were looking for. It could get a little loud at night with the windows open- traffic and some kind of club with music. The hosts are just starting to rent this villa out so it was missing some amenities which they gladly asked us about so they can add them in. Overall we had a wonderful stay.
