A wonderful place for a family of all ages

We, two grandparents, were together with two of our daughters and their children, age 4 and 5. It was a perfect house for this: there is lots of room for the little ones to play (like a nice play-attic), it is safe (it is the last house on a quiet road) and private, and everyone loved the pool and the jacuzzi, which are both well maintained. We love to come back.

Family holiday

The property was lovely and we all enjoyed our stay very much. The location was perfect, the pool was great and the hot tub a great additional luxury. We were a bit taken aback by the surprise €320 bill at the end for heating the pool, having bedding and a cleaning bill. It begs the question what the weekly rent was for?! These additional costs should be made much more transparent as this is not an insignificant surcharge.

Just perfect

We spent the majority of our holiday outside, it’s a great outdoor area. Well worth heating the pool. The boules court is a great activity for us adults too and we even started up a league. 4 very comfy double beds and we all slept well. The best thing about this home is it keeps it’s cool during the day and night so you don’t have to worry about a hot nights sleep. Paul was great at keeping us informed and guiding us through the booking process. We made use of the houses utilities, the washing machine and extras fridge came in very handy. The village a mere 3 minutes drive is one of the friendliest villages in France we have been too, 2 very good resturants who are more than accommodating. Fantastic area it was completely quiet during our stay. Only at night can you hear the wildlife as two ponds are close by so it’s great to watch, we saw wild pigs, deer, hares and bats. 10/10

Fantastic!

We had an amazing week in a fantastic location. We were here during the first week of May, so we took a gamble on the weather, but we were lucky! It was very sunny, and the temperatures were good, allowing us to spend a lot of time outdoors. The pool also needed to be woken up from its winter slumber, but by the end of the week, the water was pleasantly warm. The house is beautiful, spacious, and equipped with all the necessary amenities. It also stays cool inside, which meant that some evenings, we found it a bit chilly, and preferred to sit outside (although there is an option to heat the house, we didn't find it necessary). I can imagine that during the summer months, it would be lovely to be inside! The location is the biggest plus of this property. What a peaceful and private spot it is! Furthermore, there is plenty of sun and shade, catering to everyone's preferences. There are plenty of activities to do in the surrounding area. We visited a cave (a 20-minute drive away), went climbing in a park (a 5-minute drive away), went canoeing on the Dordogne River (a 25-minute drive away), and visited several beautiful villages. And last but not least, Paul is an excellent host who does everything he can to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

Super séjour. La maison est parfaite pour accueillir deux familles et leurs enfants. Les espaces sont grands et bien aménagés. Les extérieurs (jardin, piscine, jacuzzi, terrain de pétanque…) sont très agréables et nous ont permis de passer une majorité de nos vacances dehors. Un gîte d'exception

Un gîte formidable, un hôte aux petits soins. Malgré une météo maussade, nous avons pu profiter de la piscine agréablement chauffée, ainsi que du jacuzzi. Quelques petites péripéties liées d'une part à la météo et d'autre part au fonctionnement du jacuzzi, très rapidement résolues par notre hôte, qui se trouve être d'une réactivité exceptionnelle. Le seul petit bémol est le confort de la literie qui se trouve dans la dépendance. Le cadre est parfait pour une déconnexion totale.

La campagne comme on l’aime!

Excellent séjour dans cette belle maison, parfaitement au calme. Les deux bâtiments indépendants permettent à deux familles d’être à l’aise et autonomes, tout en se retrouvant sur la terrasse, ou au bord de la piscine chauffée (et tres propre). Paul est tres sympathique et serviable. Pour ne rien gâcher, la région regorge de richesses, notamment au niveau de la gastronomie. Je recommande!!

Un havre de paix

Quel bonheur de se retrouver tous en famille dans un lieu tel que celui-là! Loin du monde, loin du bruit, en pleine nature, mais juste assez près des commerces… dans une région magnifique. La configuration des lieux, en 2 habitations plus ou moins indépendantes, nous ont permis d’emmener 2 petits-enfants dans qu’ils ne gênent personne. Et, cerise sur le gâteau, nous avons pu apprécier la gentillesse et la disponibilité de notre hôte… Une expérience à conseiller absolument!

Charming house in lovely setting

The house is full of charm and character, a beautifully renovated farmhouse with lots of space and comfort. We really enjoyed the lovely pool and hot tub, and the boules court! It was a pleasure to cook in the kitchen and to enjoy meals both indoors and outside. Paul and Virginie were very helpful and kind, especially when we had to deal with some unexpected car trouble. We would be delighted to stay there again.

Beautiful setting. Swimming pool and hot tub were excellent, especially for children. Inside the house had a slightly "tired" look and feel but outside was spectacular and we were lucky to have good weather all week. Kitchen could be larger given the number accommodated in the property. Host was very helpful, especially when the dishwasher stopped working - he replaced it within 24 hours! Biggest problem was the flies but that may just be the time of year/weather conditions. Overall a great property for a family holiday.

Charme et confort au calme

Cette location se situe au calme dans la campagne à moins de 2 km de Vergt où l’on trouve les commerces du quotidien. Cette jolie fermette très bien restaurée a beaucoup de charme. Elle est aussi très confortable et fraîche en été. La terrasse, la grande piscine très bien entretenue ont enchanté notre séjour ! L’accueil des hôtes a été parfait de bout en bout. C’est un endroit où nous reviendrons à coup sûr !

un peu deçus à l'arrivée car indiqué sur l'annonce 5ch et 5 salles de bains . or il n'y a que 3s.de bains, la maison trés fraiche mais sommes nous les premiers locataires de la saison,? la piscine agréable en température n'est pas aisée à pratiquer(franchir) pour des soixantenaires,une échelle escamotable pourrait etre utile (il manque au moins 2 marches) pour nous l'essentiel etait que nous soyons ensemble en famille et votre région regorge de merveilles donc nous avons passé un bon séjour

Perfect house for a group of friends

This villa is just perfect. Great pool, super nice jacuzzi and the inside was great as well. Enough shade around the pool and the villa itself is also in the shade, therefore the villa remains cool even when the outside temperature is above 30 degrees celcius. Besides this Vergt is a nice little village with a good boulangerie and a good spar supermarket.
