"This was a beautiful apartment. The sheets on one of the beds had holes throughout it which was appalling to me but they rectified it the next morning with new sheets. The place requires you to get rid of garbage and recycling which is extensive and that is a pain in the neck. Otherwise this place was lovely. Great view of the marina. "This was a lovely little apartment and perfect for 2 adults and 2 children. It was in a quiet location and just a short walk from the beach and restaurants. It was also only a 20 min walk to the train station with great links to Florence, Pisa and Lucca. The owner Franco was so helpful as we contacted him a few times about where to go etc. Viareggio was fantastic but would recommend going to one of the beach clubs if you want a day on the beach!"

"Traditional resort hotel, the Bella Riviera is very central in Viareggio, on the main beach road. As a solo traveller I usually have to tolerate a windowless room behind stairs, so I was delighted to be given a lovely room at the front with a balcony and a sea view. The daily cleaning kept the room and en-suite spotless, the breakfast was a varied buffet and the staff were friendly and helpful. My only complaint was the noisy air con. "
