Marina bay is in a beautiful location on the bay of Vlora and has a stunning small private beach. The rooms (we had a 2 bedroom suite) are clean and spacious and the beds comfortable. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. However this is not a 5 star hotel / resort and a number of things need improving urgently. The furniture in our sitting area was of poor quality and the sofa was broken, the bathrooms were very small and badly designed and one of the showers leaked all the shower water into the bathroom floor. The family pool area is really not up to minimum (let alone 5 star) standard - the pool itself is dirty with the plastering coming off the pool floor in various places and no evidence of any maintenance or cleaning being undertaken (my daughter found a nappy in it!). The area around the family pool is also not very clean and the sunbed mattresses were very dirty. Beach towels were not always available (here and at the beach) and staff in the pool and beach areas were not particularly helpful or polite. There are limited places to eat in the resort and they are all vey overpriced (not just by Albanian standards but by comparison to 5 star resorts in top European locations in Italy, Spain etc). In summary, this could be a 5 star resort but it needs to try a little harder to deliver the quality and service required to do so (and not just the instagrammable photo backdrop).

Our experience has been simply fantastic, a wonderful atmosphere, delicious food, and exceptional service. What’s making this vacation even more special are our dinners and the relaxing time at the beach during the day, where we were served by the amazing waiters: Jeta at the Mandarin Restaurant and Denis at Batos! Jeta was very warm, polite, and professional. She welcomed us with a smile and helped us with excellent menu recommendations. Denis was also very attentive, quick, and always ready to help without even needing to be asked. Both of them worked with dedication and professionalism, making the service perfect. The front desk staff has also been super helpful, informative, and very professional from the moment we arrived. Their assistance made our stay even more comfortable and stress-free. The view is breathtaking, the food is prepared with great care, but the service from Jeta, Denis, and the entire staff truly elevated the entire experience to another level.

Extremely Unprofessional – Stay Away

Regret booking this hotel. On the second night, they asked me to downgrade rooms. Staff pressured me to book overpriced tours through their personal contacts — totally unprofessional. Guest Relations were useless, and the GM refused to talk. They don’t respect guests who book via Hotels.com. Rooms are outdated and service is poor. Never again.

My best friend and I LOVED it here!! From the moment we arrived everything was great. The views were great, and we loved the beach, especially with all the levels. Ace Club was also super fun and the club staff was super! Next time we hope to attend a party at Lime. Of the three restaurants Batos was our favorite (the caramel cake is sooo good)!! The pool area is also amazing, and definitely a vibe. The staff at Marina Bay made are trip all the more special, they are incredible and super friendly! My friend forgot some money in our room at checkout and we wouldn’t have known if it wasn’t for the expert services. We can’t wait to come back next summer!

Poor Hospitality and Management – Regret Staying

I stayed at Maritim Marina Bay Resort SPA & Casino for several nights and truly regret the decision. While the beach location is scenic, the rest of the experience fell far below professional hospitality standards. On my second night, I was unexpectedly asked to downgrade my room, which is unacceptable after check-in. The hotel clearly does not favor third-party bookings like Hotels.com and attempts to push guests toward higher direct rates. Worse, the receptionist offered personal services through local contacts, which was completely inappropriate. The Guest Relations team lacked proper training and did not resolve concerns professionally. Despite repeated requests, the General Manager refused to meet or engage, which reflects extremely poor leadership. Rooms are outdated, staff are not guest-focused, and service across the property lacks consistency. I do not recommend this hotel and will certainly not return.

Regrettable Stay – Poor Hospitality and Unprofessi

I deeply regret choosing Maritim Marina Bay Resort SPA & Casino for my stay — especially after extending for multiple nights. While the beachfront location is beautiful, the overall experience was far below expectations. The rooms are outdated, and service throughout the resort is inconsistent and unprofessional. On the second night of my stay, I was shockingly asked to downgrade my room — something that no reputable hotel should ever impose on a guest once already checked in. It was also clear that the staff discourage bookings made through Hotels.com, pushing instead for higher direct rates. The receptionist even attempted to promote external services through local contacts, which is highly inappropriate in any professional hospitality setting. Guest Relations lacked the training and competence to address concerns, and despite multiple requests, the General Manager refused to meet or speak with me directly — a major red flag for any guest-centric establishment. Overall, a disappointing and unwelcoming experience. I would not recommend this hotel to others and certainly will not return.

Do not stay here!

This hotel ruined my honeymoon and is hands down the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. They claim to be a 5 star luxury hotel & spa. The website & their hotels.com page look so relaxing & day they are family oriented. It could not be any more opposite. They hold a day time party at the pool from around noon to 8 pm. The music is so extremely loud that you hear it from your room, from the beach and anywhere on the property. We had to move rooms twice because we had such bad headaches from the music. On top of that there is a club that played such loud music until 3:30 am. Our bed was literally shaking from the bass. We made sure we were gone from the hotel all day long, the party was that bad! Not only was this not the romantic stay we were expecting for our honeymoon, the hotel is definitely more of a 3 star hotel, not 5. They lost our room key so the whole stay we had to go get an employee to let us in and out of our room. It was a nightmare. One time we came back to our room and it was unlocked. Who knows how long it was open!!! The employees were nice and did the best we could but we felt completely robbed from this relaxing hotel experience they promise. Plus they don’t even have a spa, it’s such a scam! Seriously if you are not looking to party and listen to loud music on your holiday DO NOT COME HERE!

Hotel lindíssimo com uma vista incrível. O mar é cristalino e o por do sol é inacreditável. Os quartos são excelentes, com varanda e todo o conforto necessário. O café da manhã é excelente. Piscina fantástica. Serviço excelente.

Wir mussten 3x das Zimmer wechseln… Wir hatten mehrmals das Problem kein warmes Wasser zu haben… Das Essen und der Pool sind hervorragend und der Zugang zum Meer mit einer Treppe ist erleichternd.(Steinstrand)

One of the worst experiences in Albania.

One of the worst experiences ever. My husband and I, chose the location since we wanted to try for future summer holidays. Friends had recommended both tbe hotel & the restaurant. We booked a room and reserve for dinner at mandarin restaurant. The welcome at the hotel was very nice, they upgraded the room since the hotel was nearly empty. The staff were friendly and accompanied us to our room & welcomed with a glass of sparkling wine & panetone. T
