We had a very pleasant stay and would choose this accommodation again. It’s not high end but felt clean, welcoming and fit our needs perfectly as a home base as we waited for the volcano. It was very close to the volcano park and conveniently near to local restaurants etc. We felt like we had our own space and felt like the shared bathrooms were not a problem at all.

The room was amazing. I loved the sounds of the birds and frogs. The garden was beautiful and the property well maintained. Even though they say it’s an old house and you might hear people in other rooms, I did not. I never waited for a bathroom to use either. It was a quiet and peaceful stay just 5 minutes outside the park. It was nice having a full kitchen as well.

Unfortunately, the room had a strong musty, mildew-like odor that reminded me of an old attic. We had to keep the dehumidifier running 24 hours a day just to make the room more tolerable. The smell made the room feel dated and significantly impacted our comfort during our stay.
The location is a major advantage, as it’s very close to Volcanoes National Park, making it convenient for exploring the area. If you’re only planning to stay a night or two and mainly need a place to sleep, it may be adequate. However, we stayed for five nights, which was far too long given the comfort of the room.
