Shady Acres Farm

Welcome to The Farm at Shady Acres! Make yourself at home at this freshly remodeled long time family farm. Shady Acres is located 12 miles from Waco, only 20 minutes from downtown Waco and the Magnolia Silos and 15 minutes from historic West, Texas. Shady Acres offers a spacious 1100 square foot one bedroom home with two queen beds, one bath and a large open concept living/kitchen/dining area. The farm sits on a fenced in 4 acre section of a larger 40 acre farm complete with horses and cows. You can experience amazing sunsets and the tranquility of the country while being just a short distance from the city.

Enjoy all the amenities of "city living" with an extremely well-stocked kitchen with, oven, stove, microwave, refrigerator, Keurig and dishwasher. When not enjoying a meal at one of many local restaurants feel free to make yourself at home and cook up your favorite meal. Enjoy your meal either inside or at the outdoor dining area on the screened in porch. You can wrap up your evening by enjoying a cozy fire in the fire pit.

Adjacent to the kitchen is the laundry room with detergent provided.

The Farm at Shady Acres is perfect for all Baylor sporting events and activities, fans of Fixer Upper, workshops at Homestead Heritage, Westfest and any and all Waco events.

When not out enjoying all that Waco and Central Texas have to offer, settle in with HDTV with the Dish Network, play a board game, cards or dominoes. Or, just sit back and relax and enjoy all that country living has to offer.

Standard Rate: $115 per night

NOTE: Administration Fee is McLennan County 2% tax and 7% Waco Hotel/Lodging Tax. VRBO collects state sales tax only.

No pet fee with approval.

CANCELLATION POLICY
100% refund with cancellation more than 30 days of stay
50% refund with cancellation more than 14 days for stay
0% refund within 14 days of visit ($100 damage deposit will be refunded)

Quiet Respite Retreat
I booked this home to put me and my husband close to Bluebonnet viewing areas. The owners left very good instructions entering property and the home was packed with everything I needed to stay at this rural farm like setting. Beds were comfortable,shower is modern with an abundance of linens offered. The homeowner offered fresh laid eggs from their chickens which we savored for breakfast. It was a great experience and definitely would venture back in the future.

Peaceful Family Farm
We chose this property for its green space mostly to rest and recuperate, plus Baylor Homecoming and connecting with old friends. The place was a haven for us and enjoyed the huge trees and seeing the animals. Thank you for keeping it natural and uncontrived. The house was very cozy and had everything we needed and then some. Incredibly relaxing! This home was close enough to Waco to be convenient but far enough away to feel connected to nature. My son had a blast playing wandering around the property and it was the perfect place to unwind and relax after my Ironman. The owner was very communicative and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay! The fresh eggs, fresh air, and cozy setting were fantasticl. Our two young grandkids loved seeing the horses and cows and going for a walk back to the pond where we watched lots of turtles and frogs and even saw a water snake. Summer Vacation 2023
This property was an amazing place from the fresh eggs to the breakfast items left for us and all the kitchen items to make homemade cooked meals. The best view was in the mornings on the back porch watching the sunrise and sunset. Cooking in the kitchen you can see the cows and horses. It was the best decision we made and so close to our family that we did not have to drive back and forth into town. We definitely will book again and would recommend it for anyone looking for that country feel and serenity.

This place is magical.
My 4th time here. Each time I bring someone different to experience this farmhouse, the land and the animals. Time to put down electronics and just relax and destress. A perfect place to wind down. Quiet, peaceful, natural setting. Conveniently located just north of Waco, Texas. Attentive hosts who pulled out all the stops to help us have a wonderful time. We were able to do some serious bird watching, hike around the farm and breathe clean air for a week.

Amazing Farm Stay!
My daughter and I booked this location when visiting Waco. We are SO glad we booked on this sweet little farm. It reminded me of my grandparents place and was so comforting and peaceful. They included many personal touches, including games, books, coffee and fresh eggs. The house was extremely clean and we slept like babies in their cozy beds. Jim came by to feed the horses and cows, and I had the privilege of getting some history of the place, which has been in his family for decades. They have a beautiful outdoor seating space with fire pit and creek. We would highly recommend booking this stay when your visiting Waco! We certainly will on our next trip.

Awesome little farmhouse to stay.
House was setup nicely.Reminded of home. It had everything we needed…from farm fresh eggs to coffee. Cozy beds and fresh towels. My wife is a horse lover and she got to pet the horses which is huge for her. Just what we wanted…something out of town, peaceful, and quiet.

Very Nice Country Getaway
We enjoyed our stay here a lot! It is beautiful country property but still close enough to go do fun things in and around Waco. We only had one issue while staying here, the cable/Internet went out. We contacted the host and he responded very quickly and did his best to solve the problem (cable came back/Internet remained spotty). Also, just FYI, there is a short hallway but no doorway between the sleeping area and the living room area. Just something to keep in mind if you and your companions have different sleeping schedules. These are small complaints for what was, overall, a very pleasant stay at this lovely little house.
