Bring the whole group to Island Sands in Maalaea with two private 2-bedroom, 2-bath oceanfront condos in the same six-storey building on Maui's central shore: four bedrooms in all, two full kitchens, two ocean-view lanais, an in-unit washer and dryer in each home, and the oceanfront pool, lawn and barbecue area at the foot of the building.



What we guarantee: Both condos are always inside the Island Sands complex, a single six-storey building, so the two homes always share a building rather than sitting in separate buildings, and are always within a 2-3 minute walk of each other by elevator or the stairs. Unit A is a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom condo and Unit B is a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom condo, with exactly the beds listed below in every bedroom. Unit A's lanai looks across the lawn and pool to the ocean and the West Maui Mountains across the bay; Unit B's covered lanai faces straight out over Maalaea Bay. Both homes are kept to the same standard you see in these photos. If we ever could not deliver that, you would approve the alternative first or receive a full refund.

The 4 bedrooms sleep 8 guests at 2 per bedroom, and the sleeper sofa in each living room sleeps 2 more, adding 4 additional guests for a combined maximum of 12.



Unit A is on the third floor: a living room with a grey sectional, two armchairs and a wall-mounted TV, a round dining table for four, and a kitchen with white quartz counters, light-wood cabinets and an island with two stools. Sliding doors open onto a lanai with a teak table and four chairs looking over the pool and lawn to the ocean. The king master has a bathroom with a glass walk-in shower and its own door to the lanai; the second king bedroom uses the full bath with a tub-shower. A stacked washer and dryer sit in a closet off the kitchen.



Unit B is on the fifth floor: a living room with a leather sofa, two swivel chairs and a wall-mounted TV, a kitchen with butcher-block counters, open wood shelving and a table for four, and a covered lanai with string lights, wicker armchairs and a bar counter with two stools along the railing facing the bay. The king master opens onto the lanai and has an en-suite bathroom with a vessel sink and a tiled walk-in shower; the queen bedroom has a desk and uses the second full bath with a walk-in shower. A stacked washer and dryer sit in a closet beside the kitchen.



Good to know before you book: each condo has its own front door and its own entry details, so the two groups come and go independently. The building has elevators, so neither home needs stairs. Free parking is on site, both homes have ceiling fans, Unit A has a wall air-conditioning unit in the living room and Unit B has a portable unit in the second bedroom, and there is a 4-night minimum with check-in from 3 PM and check-out by 11 AM.

The Space:

Unit A (2BR): Unit A is a two-bedroom, two-bathroom condo on the third floor of Island Sands. Sliding doors open onto a lanai with an oval teak table and four wicker chairs, looking across the lawn and oceanfront pool to the ocean and the West Maui Mountains across the bay. The living room sofa is a sleeper for two more guests, bringing this home's total to 6. The master bedroom has a king bed, a ceiling fan, a wall-mounted TV, its own sliding door to the lanai and an en-suite bathroom with a glass walk-in shower. The second bedroom also has a king bed, a ceiling fan and a mirrored closet, and uses the second full bathroom with a tub-shower. A wall air-conditioning unit cools the living room, ceiling fans run throughout, and a stacked washer and dryer are in a louvered closet off the kitchen.



Unit B (2BR): Unit B is a two-bedroom, two-bathroom condo on the fifth floor of Island Sands. The living room has a brown leather sofa, two patterned swivel chairs and a wall-mounted TV, the kitchen has butcher-block counters, herringbone tile, open wood shelving, a stainless refrigerator and a table for four, and sliding doors open onto a covered lanai with string lights, wicker armchairs and a bar counter with two stools along the railing, facing straight out over Maalaea Bay to the mountains beyond. The living room sofa is a sleeper for two more guests, for a total of 6 in this home. The master bedroom has a king bed, a ceiling fan, a sliding door to the lanai and an en-suite bathroom with a live-edge wood vanity, a vessel sink and a tiled walk-in shower. The second bedroom has a queen bed, a desk, a ceiling fan and a portable air-conditioning unit, and uses the second full bathroom with a walk-in shower. A stacked washer and dryer are in a closet beside the kitchen.



This Island Sands stay brings together two private 2-bedroom condos inside the same Island Sands complex. Guest Access:

Your reservation includes the private interiors of both Unit A and Unit B, each with its own front door and its own entry details, plus the shared Island Sands amenities: the oceanfront pool, the lawn, the barbecue area and the building's elevators. Free parking is on site. Arrival instructions, entry details and parking information for each condo are sent before check-in.



The Neighborhood:

Maalaea sits at the narrow isthmus connecting Maui's two volcanic halves, and Island Sands sits right in the heart of it, steps from Maalaea Harbor, where many of the island's snorkel and whale-watching boats depart. The harbor village offers casual waterfront dining, fresh poke and plate lunches, and the Maui Ocean Center aquarium a short walk away, a genuine must for families who want to see Hawaiian green sea turtles and sharks up close. Sugar Beach, a long and quiet stretch of golden sand, runs north from Maalaea toward Kihei, and the beaches, restaurants and shops of Kihei and Wailea are a short drive south. Kahului's shops and the road to Haleakala, Iao Valley and the West Maui resorts are all within easy reach.



Getting Around:

Kahului Airport (OGG) is approximately 10 to 15 minutes from Island Sands by car, making arrival and departure straightforward even with luggage for a large group. A rental car is strongly recommended - Maui's public bus system serves the island but runs on limited schedules, and rideshare availability in Maalaea can be inconsistent outside peak hours. That said, the immediate Maalaea Harbor area is very walkable from Island Sands, so once you are settled you can reach the aquarium, the boat docks and the harborfront dining on foot.
