"As always, super clean and modern. Rooms are functional and mattresses true western-style (iykyk :-) ) Great location next to train station (not noisy at all - no trains at night?) with bus services or fairly short drive to explore the Mt. Aso area. Restaurants and Lawsons in walking distance."

"I loved it! Excellent amenities. Excellent food. Excellent service. I was looking for something that could offer me some peace and privacy. A place where I could relax and enjoy a private onsen to relax from a month-long trip through Japan. This property delivered that and a lot more. There are many different ryokan units at this property, each with a different name. You essentially get a detached Japanese home to yourself. My unit (labeled Western Style) had 2 hot springs bath: one indoors (with a sliding glass door) and an external one (covered, but outdoors, which you can regulate the siding slabs for privacy if you want to enjoy it Japanese-style). The other highlight is the food. I had dinner and breakfast included in my rare. They are both served in private rooms inside their main building. Guests wear traditional Japanese clothing (yakata) for that, which is provided to you in your room. Dinner is omakase style. So, if you are a picky eater, you’ll be better off staying at your regular hotel chain, not an authentic Japanese accommodation. They do not cater to that type of guest. I personally found the food delicious. The service was outstanding. The property is less than a 10 minute walk to the Yufuin Floral Village. They provide a taxi free of charge from the Yufuin train station to pickup you up and drop you off at check-out. I will decidedly return."

"Clean and spacious room with excellent mountain view. Staff were helpful and welcoming. Hot spring baths were of good condition. Close to attractions, transports and lot of dining options. Parking was free and convenient. The main minor issue was that the door close between 12 midnight and 6am. Whoever like to stay late outside would better be aware of this. However, these was not much to do after midnight in that area, so it is not that bad."

"The service here is so good and thoughtful, I cannot emphasize how impressed we were. The staff helped us store our baggage before check in and figure out how to get the baggage to the train station. We were provided a variety of complimentary gifts, and a map of the surrounding area. The room was spacious and clean, and the private baths were a wonderful experience. I’d definitely recommend this hotel to others traveling in this area."

"I can’t say enough good things about this place. It was relaxing and staff were friendly and welcoming. When I departed on April 9, I realized that I had forgotten my watch at the hotel. Upon calling the hotel, the front desk gentleman drove his motorbike to quickly return it to me at the station. I am beyond thankful for his hospitality and am very appreciative of his kind and quick response. He made our trip extra special."
