Solid value in expensive Alexandria. 20 min walk from Huntington Station (BL metro). Good bed. Rm 131 corner room very spacious. Remodeled bathroom with nice new tile in shower. Indian Restaurant next door for quiet bite to eat and drink at the bar. Would stay here again if I can’t find a cheaper alt in DC-proper.

Quite rundown and unkept. First room I got I could breath in it from the stale cigarette smoke The vanity light was broken and mold on the bathroom ceiling. They gave me a non-smoking room next and it still was smoke infested but tolerable, barely. Still made my clothes smell like stale smoke though, just being in the room. The sink faucet barely worked and took a bit to get the hot and cold regulated. The bed was rough and plastic cover and sheets Bunched up all night. Pillows were old rocks.

Where to start..? The non-smoking rooms that smelled of smoke? The sheets that were stained with god only knows what (albeit they had been washed)? The fact that housekeeping used grocery carts as their housekeeping carts? Weird discolored hand prints/smudges on the walls? Dresser drawers that either wouldn't open, or when they did; emitted a rather odd odor? The coffee available in the lobby was produced by a lone Bunn drip coffee maker sitting on the only table in the room? That there was only a single roll of toilet paper and no Kleenex? The fact that space over the check-in desk was separated from the lobby by 1.5" of bullet proof Lexan/glass? TBH though, it wasn't all bad. The water was wet, the toilet flushed, and the AC worked.

So this is an interesting one. On one hand the hotel is situated in a fairly sketchy area of Route 1, but on the other hand, the property (although a bit dated) is fairly well maintained. I only stayed one night, but I’d consider staying more next time for the right price and convenience

Expedia notified us 24 hours before checking that our original reservation could not be honored although it had been made at the beginning of June.Due to traveling, we were unable to respond to them until the following day. They were unable to find comparable accommodations near the area we needed. We ended up at this hotel knowing it did not have many amenities but at least expected a clean space and a box of tissues. We were immediately surprised and disappointed that Expedia would even recommend it. There was a dead cockroach by the toilet, the bathroom walls and doors were stained and visibly dirty, and when the window curtain was pulled back, there was an opened half consumed bottle of water from a previous occupant. The only reason we stayed was because it was already evening and we were tired from our travel activities and unlikely to find anything else at that late hour. I cannot recommend this place to anyone. Shame on Expedia and shame on this hotel.

Decent location. Definitely not fancy. The first room had a smell. Like smoke or dampness. I was given another room. It was better. Air conditioning worked well but the room was old and sparse. As a guy it was fine but if I had been traveling with my wife she wouldn’t have been happy.
