"My husband and I booked Chateau de Campo for two nights for the Perseid meteor shower. The location offered a nice wide open view and dark skies, and it was perfect for what we intended to do. We booked two nights just in case clouds messed up the peak night, we could stay the extra day and at least see something. Well, we ended up getting a perfect first night for the peak of the meteor shower. I saw 78 meteors total. So, we use the second day to kind of catch up on some sleep that we needed and go into town. This was the cutest little cabin ever. Everything was set up perfectly to accommodate us. The bed was comfortable, we had a nice full-size bathroom, a washer and dryer and a little kitchen set up too. The other perk is it’s only about a nine minute drive into town. There are so many cute and good restaurants to eat at. We tried Bessies’s Sweet Retreat, Red Brick Café, and Swamp Monster. If you don’t feel like eating out, there is a little cooktop and a microwave that you can cook with, and a propane grill on the back porch.This was a great place to unwind and relax. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and plan on returning again."
