“This was our first time in Washington and I would caution everyone to avoid NW if possible. Was convenient to the DC Streetcar however the unit is located almost directly over a liquor store and the walk to it was dicey. I wasn't aware but apparently pot is legal and used openly in public. Would not have brought the kids had I been warned. The unit itself was TINY. We felt pretty safe being on the 3rd floor but it was quite noisy from the traffic and late night partiers across the street.……

“This house was comfortable, furnished well and clean. Caution, There are alot of steep steps. There is a basement bedroom and family room...we stayed in September, while the rest of the house was comfortable, it was FREEZING down there. The neighborhood seemed quiet and safe, however, it is not very close to the Metrolink station, so if you're going to want to use the Metro, you might have to scooter there. ”

“We rented the castle which was 3 apartments. It was perfect for our large group. All three condos were spotless, the beds were comfortable and the shower was fantastic. Garth was very responsive and helpful. It was perfect for our gathering and we would be happy to rent again. ”

I would have liked to had a more well stocked kitchen, more plates, cups, silverware, hot pads, etc. The kitchen worked out well for no longer that we stayed but if more meals were being made youd have to handwash things in between or while prepping so you could have enough to work with. ”

“We were a party of 5 and there was more than enough space for everyone. We all had our own bed which was a plus. The location was pretty central to everywhere we wantes to be. In town for a conference at the convention center which was about a 10 minute drive. Its alot of stairs if tou have lots of luggge. While we were in D.C. the weather was in the 90s which cause thed upstairs bedrooms to be very hot. They never cooled down like we slept on top of the bedding. Other than the heat the place……

“Beautiful place! Great location for our needs. Great communication with the host. Highly recommended. There were only 4 of us and it was a short stay, but was perfect! Plenty of space. The “kids” (young adults) were able to have their own room. Bathroom for each bedroom and a half bath downstairs.One thing to keep in mind if considering: access is all stairs. This is a 4th floor unit (no elevator) and there are stairs in the unit as well to get to the 2nd and 3rd floor bedrooms. Not a negative……

“We’re seasoned travelers and VRBO customers! Nice apartment in fair-sketchy DC area. Booked 4 nights for Thanksgiving, night #2, awakened at 3:45am with a family standing in apartment! A duplicate reservation with code to building and apartment issued! Called VRBO and owner (Mary Stays-Siem) agrees to $350 refund (two nights) with VRBO recording call. However, one month later we’re still waiting for refund from Mary Stays and/or VRBO! Buyer Beware!”

“The interior of the apartment is nice and clean, however, the area is very unsafe, with drug dealing and police cars going on all night. People hung out all night right across the street, playing loud music and yelling, making it impossible to sleep through the night. There is no parking in the property so we had to park our car on the street right where all those people were partying”
