We invite you to come and stay at our newly renovated 2BR home on the northwest side of Wausau. The house is located in a safe quiet neighborhood close to everything: 7 minutes drive to Granite Peak, 5 minutes to downtown, and 5 minutes to Aspirus Hospital. Coffee shops, bars, restaurants and convenience stores are all within easy walking distance. High speed internet/wifi. Huge 75” SmartTV with surround sound for enjoying the big game or watching your favorite show. New super comfortable beds and furniture throughout the house. Brand new kitchen, bathroom and hardwood floors. Garage with plenty of space to park your car, store ski gear, bikes, kayaks, etc. Pet friendly with a large, securely fenced in yard with ample room for your furry friend to run around and play outside. Stainless steel fire pit in backyard with firewood available for free. Blackout blinds in both bedrooms for visiting night shift workers.

Perfect Little House

This was the perfect place to stay for our little family! It was very clean and the fenced in backyard was perfect for our pup. The neighborhood was very quiet and close to everything.

Birch Cottage is Awesome!!!

Work trip

Repeat guest at this great location. I regularly visit Wausau for work and this is much more comfortable than staying in a hotel. Great neighborhood and the house has been renovated and furnished to a very high standard.

Great place

Back for another stay for work. Ongoing improvements are great, now there is a charcoal BBQ and nice outdoor furniture for chilling in the sun. I’ll be back in a few weeks!

Adorable home!

My husband was having surgery at the Aspirus hospital near by. I needed a place to stay in the evenings so I could get some rest. This was a really nice home and I felt so comfortable here.

Wonderful stay

This property in very good location. Clean and cozy house with garage. Our pet enjoyed fenced backyard. Definitely will stay again. Host was very responsive even though they were abroad. Highly recommend it.

Spring skiing at Granite Peak

Visited this amazing place in March. Close to the mountain (7-minute drive). Cozy and clean. You will find there everything you need for a comfortable stay and much more. Highly recommended. Hope to stay at this house next ski season too.

A Sweet Little Place!

An excellent place to stay and highly recommended! Everything was perfect for us; the communication with hosts, convenience, price, pet friendly and super clean. Just like old times in Wausau

This house is in a convenient area, handy to everything Wausau has to offer, like Sam's Pizza! Close to the highways, groceries and downtown restaurants and attractions. It even comes with your own bunnies in the yard. The washer and dryer, Large fridge in the garage and huge tv make this suitable for long stays. The best!! downtown.

Excellent Home Rental!

This is a lovely home, exceptionally clean and updated, the beds are comfy, the kitchen is lovely and functional, and the yard is perfect for dogs. We were able to comfortably sleep a family of four and cook family meals. The hosts were very communicative and it was easy to check in. We cameto ski at Granite Peak and it was close. Loved the recomendations for Biggby Coffe and dinner at Red Eye Brewing. Great stay!

Better than advertised

I stayed for two weeks for business. Super nice and comfortable place to stay. Much nicer than staying at my regular hotel. I’d say the photos under represent how nice it is. Ping Pong table in the basement is a nice touch! Loved the record player and ability to use my phone with the bluetooth surround system for music. Will definitely stay again.

Family Gathering

The amenities of the house spoke to us, fenced yard for a dog, recently renovated, and nice residential area. The house is only 5 minutes from downtown and easy access to Hwy 51. We loved the hardwood floors and the many updated interior design features/fixtures. We will book this place the next time we visit family in Wausau.

The Cutest Scandi Ski Home

Located less than 10 minutes to Granite Peak, the Birch Cottage was the perfect home base for our weekend ski getaway. Hans and Kristen’s home had everything you could want and more in a rental, plus the cutest Scandi decor. The hosts were extremely responsive and answered any questions we had. I would highly recommend their place and will definitely rebook on future trips! Thank you Kristen and Hans!

Super comfortable - location, location location!

Highly recommend! So many thoughtful amenities in this newly renovated, Scandinavian themed home. Exceptional comfortable bed, huge TV, baseboard heat, all equal COMFORT! And don't forget the large garage - no scraping your car off. But best of all, this very quiet neighborhood is close to I-39 (south), highway 29 (east and west) and 51 North. Easy navigation everywhere!

Property was very clean, warm and welcoming. It was exactly as described in the listing. The fenced yard was wonderful since I was traveling with pets. The neighborhood is nice and quiet. The neighbor was very friendly. Besides the easy to use home temperature control, the bedrooms had their own controls and remote fans. Very nice. If you like to cook, the stove is amazing. And the TV is huge. The property manager was great at answering all my questions, accommodating and readily available. Would definitely stay here again.

Wausau health care

My husband and I both feel this "vacation" VRBO is the very best we have ever stayed in. The neighborhood is charming. Location to hospital where my husband had surgery was close by and an easy drive. Sofas are comfy and king bed is a dream. We didn't bring our dog, but the fenced backyard is safe and flat. Thank you to Kristen and Hans ..... your communication is awesome. I didn't use the kitchen but it felt warm and welcoming and would be fun to cook meals in. I hope we can visit without a hospital stay next time!

I stayed here for 2 weeks while in the area for work. I believe I was the first guest at the property. =) I have nothing but good things to say about the place. Clean, comfortable, and lavishly furnished and equipped. super fast internet, and everything works. Fire pit is a nice touch. Overall, way better than staying at a hotel, which is what I have done in the past. I will definitely be coming back. The price is perhaps slightly higher than other short term rentals in the area, but you definitely get what you pay for. As a bonus, the neighbors are great and the neighborhood is charming. Don’t miss the buffalo chicken sandwich at the Westsider Bar and Diner down the block!

Super Cute and Cozy!

This home was perfect for our family ski weekend! Only a short drive to Granite Peak and all that the cozy town of Wausau has to offer! The home is very well appointed. The host clearly has an eye for design and has taken great pride in styling the home. From the cute wine fridge to the green backsplash tile, just wonderfully curated as well as clean. The kitchen has every amenity. The TV and sound system are fabulous. There’s even a dimmer for a nightlight in the bathroom. The “welcome” binder was well thought out and very informative. Our dogs loved the fenced in yard and we felt very safe while we walked them in the neighborhood. The hosts were very easy to deal with and communication was concise and accommodating. We wanted for nothing. Thanks for being wonderful hosts! We highly recommend!

Amazing place

This was the perfect VRBO - stocked with everything we needed for the week, clean, quiet neighborhood, fenced yard for our dogs, and easy to get to all the fun Wausau has to offer. We would definitely stay again next time we are in town! The hosts were great - very easy to communicate with.
