Overall, we (older couple, adult daughter, and Labrador Retriever) had a lovely time in this home. We’ve rented a home in Wellfleet for at least 20 years and always wanted to try staying in the middle of town. This home is in a quite location but steps from convenient shopping and galleries. Great not to have to get into the car again returning from the beach. The amenities are fine, if a bit dated. Only tub showers in the two batherooms so we made good use of the outdoor shower - excellent pressure and temperature, but it could really use a couple of pegs to hold a towel and clothes, and a shelf for shampoo, etc. Kitchen was fine but not well-equiped (e.g., could use serving bowls and storage containers). Not a problem if you're using the grill or having take-out, although needs grill utensils (grill brush; fish filet flipper). The ACs worked well, but would have liked not to have used the one in 1st floor bedroom on cool nights, but it was impossible to open the windows; no blanket available to fit the king bed in that room. The owner lives next door - nice guy whom we only met as we arrived as he was mowing, but it was a bit strange that there was a Ring doorbell camera at the front door - felt like our comings and goings were observed. Lots of dos and don’ts posted around the house - one of which was don’t use Charmin TP - only septic safe TP allowed - which would have been nice to know before we lugged 4 rolls of Charmin with us. The grounds are very well kept and the neighborhood is lovely. Despite my criticisms, we would happily rent this home again.
