Not recommended unless you're really miserable

If you just want a bed to stay for one night or two, that would be... fine. Location just a minute away from the iSite tourist centre and the famous Cuba Street. Other than that, nothing impressed me. The so-called free breakfast was giving you the ingredient to cook yourself a pancake but pans in the kitchen were actually inadequate for serving the purpose and therefore a long queue waiting for cooking and cleaning and it's just a mess! The so-called free dinner was just strict enough to let you not have it. So of coz I don't know at all how these so-called complimentary meals tasted. The most terrible kitchen I encountered in my whole trip that I didn't think of cooking there at all.

我們二人住三人房，空間還是很狹小，床鋪是上下層，坐在下層的話，光線都被擋住了。以為三人房會大些、舒服些，結果沒有，挺失望的。

The room was in good condition overall, but the bunk bed made a lot of noise with even the smallest movement. It was very difficult to sleep, as either the person on the lower bed or myself on the top bed would cause loud noises whenever we moved. The pillows were also very poor. There were two pillows, but they were extremely hard and flat, and it was clear that they were very old. When I arrived, there were three pillowcases on my bed, and it was unclear whether they were clean, used, or simply forgotten there, which was a bit confusing. The private bathroom in the room could benefit from having a hairdryer. I’m not sure if it is considered a luxury, but it is always appreciated by guests. The bathroom extractor fan also appeared to be blocked and dirty. Unfortunately, what I mention next is outside of the hotel’s control, but I woke up at 7 a.m. and was unable to go back to sleep due to construction noise directly across the street from the hotel. I would avoid booking a room here until the construction is finished. Finally, the price and location are very good, and it is a good option if you need a place to stay at short notice.

Apesar de a equipe ser boa, o hostel não é. O quarto é grande, mas não tem uma cadeira pra você se sentar e ajudar a arrumar uma mala, trocar de roupa ou calçar um sapato. A propósito, havia pedido a possibilidade de ficar em uma cama inferior, mas não fui sequer escutado. Os banheiros do primeiro andar estavam quase todos fora de operação. Apenas um funcionava e não tinha água quente. Foi uma terrível experiência.

The hotel in itself is beautiful, the staff is nice, vibe is mellow. Epic staircase and old pretty building. Great location. When we first saw our room we were pleasantly surprised at how pretty it was. However, once night time came around it was not so pleasant anymore. Cigarette smoke was coming in through the window, doors were slamming loudly from the corridor, people downstairs in the courtyard could be heard very clearly (echo). The slanting mattress and the springs which could be felt through the fabric didn’t exactly improve the sleep either. I was so irritated I got up in the middle of the night and booked a new hotel, even though we had already paid for the next night. Needless to say, this is not the place for you if you are light sleeper and don’t appreciate passive smoking. And this was just a Thursday. Weekends must be absolutely horrible.

Fantastic value for money for someone looking for a simple overnight stay in the central city, even outside of the backpacking context. A safe carpark building directly behind the building and awesome Wellington coffee right next sure to that. Will be back!
