Sandpiper is a newly refurbished, centrally located, split-level apartment sleeping four.
Sandpiper accommodates 4 over a 2-storey apartment nestled above a shop in the very heart of Whitstable. Its prime location puts everything within easy reach, from delightful restaurants showcasing local produce to a diverse range of shops. The beach is just a gentle few minutes' stroll away, accessible via Whitstable's intriguing smugglers' alleyways. Being centrally situated, Sandpiper offers the convenience of returning to your holiday haven within moments, no matter where your explorations.
You check in using a key box code. I am however local to the area, so if you need anything or have any questions, I am only a phone call away and a short drive!
Perfectly positioned in the heart of Whitstable, Sandpiper offers the delightful experience of being close enough to hear the seagulls calling from the beach. Just steps away, you can savour a variety of restaurants renowned for their locally sourced cuisine and enjoy pre-dinner drinks in a cosy micro pub. The town itself boasts a rich array of attractions, including a museum, numerous art galleries, tennis courts, charming cafes, diverse shops, the historic Whitstable Castle, and a bustling harbour. With regular and convenient bus services, exploring the surrounding area is effortless, making a car entirely optional. Additionally, the train station is within a pleasant twenty-minute stroll, providing easy access to further destinations.
You have access to all areas in the property apart from the wall cupboard in the attic bedroom.
Upon entering Sandpiper, a staircase leads to the first floor. Here, you'll find the bunk bed room, and a bathroom equipped with a bath (including an overhead shower), wash basin, and toilet. Continuing along the spacious hallway, you'll arrive at the bright and airy open-plan kitchen, lounge, and diner, which comfortably seats four. The living area offers views overlooking the high street, perfect for watching the town's lively atmosphere, or you can settle down to enjoy a favourite movie on the smart TV. Though compact, the kitchen is well-equipped with an oven, hob, fridge with a mini freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, and a cafetière. For added convenience, a washing machine and clothes horse are also provided.
Ascending to the second floor, you'll discover the expansive master king-size bedroom, featuring original beams and charming sloping ceilings.
For families with young children, a travel cot is available, along with a stairgate located at the top of the first-floor stairs, just before the bunk bedroom
There is free street parking on the roads to the rear of the High Street but you cannot park directly outside the property as there are double yellow lines. The nearest paid parking is Gladstone Road or Middle Wall car park. You can view the charges on the Canterbury City Council website. Parking can be limited in the high season but once you have parked up, you are close enough to walk into town, beach, shops etc. You can also visit the 'Just Park' website to find out where to park in Whitstable.
There are frequent busses running from Whitstable to Herne Bay and Canterbury. You will find bus stops along High Street, Oxford Street etc. The trains from Whitstable station will take you to Ramsgate or further afield to London. Whitstable Train Station is about a 10 minute walk to the town centre. There are also Taxi services available for short fares or airport runs. The nearest airport is in London and the Ferry port is in Dover.
