Boycott hotels charging deposits!
Various hotels across the country have decided to take advantage of customers by gouging them on arrival for over-reaching deposits. RedRoof Wilmington NC has begun to do this egregious act as well. Before I even entered the room I received a message from my credit card bank notifying me that I have been charged $201--$100 above the set rate. The dollar amount and the level of accommodations is so wildly out of proportion that it leaves the customer completely disgusted with their purchase. When I demanded my $100 deposit be returned the next day at checkout, I was met with the most rude response from the female manager on duty 10-29-23. I told her I will not put up with deposits for a stay at the hotel and since my deposit was not going to be refunded as fast as it was charged, telling me it would take as many as 5 business days, that I would never be returning to the hotel, which I have stayed in prior more than 6 times. She rudely replied that she didn't care and was placing me on a "DO NOT RENT" list. She should be fired. Customer service is SO DEAD everywhere! Everyone under the age of 40 seems to think the customer should stop tormenting them by making them do their job. Put your phone away and grow some responsible adult traits!

While checking in with a group that reserved 6 rooms, my corporate credit card worked fine for the first 2 rooms and then got rejected. The guy at the desk said it was probably their card reader being glitchy - this wasn't the first time. That can add some stress to checking in a large group and I think it would be worth a little time and effort getting that fixed

Room was surprisingly good! Staff was very nice and welcoming. Bed was hard. Pillows were flat. But room was very clean! Some wierdos hanging around just off property, but otherwise the stay was better than expected.

The best thing about this hotel is the staff. They really care about their guests. But it is still a motel subject to the typical issues of a 2 star rated place. It was relatively clean and updated, I have no complaints regarding the property itself. It’s the people staying there who create problems. But the staff are very gracious and responded readily and decisively to my concerns.

Bathroom was so dirty that I had to buy cleaning supplies to clean it up. They try to charge me an extra $100 after I had paid online for full coverage and insurance coverage. I guess his the manager that had to tell her in they language not to change me an extra $100. I’m still very upset about it.

The outside walk way had A/C condensation running across walkway producing green algae at every room. The pool water and area was disgusting. The water looked green and oily. The trash cans were over flowing along with the cigarette buckets they leave outside the rooms. The front end service was the best thing about the place. Spend $50 more a night and go somewhere else! Oh and lets not forget about the addicts begging for money in the parking lot.

Mostly clean. Very comfortable beds. Good a/c. No noisy neighbors. Don't believe all the bad reviews. No breakfast, just apple juice and coffee. Some sand on the room floor. Biggest problem is that the room phone doesn't even work to call the front desk. What if there was an emergency?

The room was great the staff was friendly My only issue was the other people who stayed there were loud and obnoxious and I wasn’t pleased about my room smelling like weed from the person who was in the room next to use. We truly truly appreciate the Red Roof policy on letting 18 year olds check in with a military ID. I was trying to find a hotel for my Army son & his buddy for 4th of July so they could go to the beach. Disappointingly ironic that military young adults don't have the basic freedom to enjoy the 4th of July weekend. In any case - thank you to Red Roof for allowing them and special special shout out to Rocky at the front desk who was so efficient, professional and friendly!!
