Enjoy the Lower Catskills

Welcome to the Bear Lodge! Located in the Lower Catskills, the cabin is a short 90 minutes from NYC, and is centrally located to all kinds of outdoor activities. There are easy walking trails through the woods within walking distance, as well as Rails-to-Trails paths, the Neversink River, and dozens of lakes nearby.

The Space
--------------
Sleeping 6, the cabin has 3 bedrooms and two full bathrooms for your convenience. The primary bedroom has a queen bed and an attached full bathroom. The guest bedroom has a queen bed and a full bathroom across the hall. The kid's room has two twins beds, and a pack-and-play for an infant if needed.

There is a rear patio deck overlooking the woods, setup with plenty of seating and a gas grill for evening cook outs. Or cook indoors in the full kitchen and large dining room table.

The living room has a relaxing electric fireplace, plenty of seats, and a large HD tv with a Roku box providing all sorts of free content. You can also use any of your own streaming services and have a cozy night in.

This property was excellent. The inside has obviously been completely remodeled and is beautiful. Really enjoyed the fireplace, and the individual thermostats in every room (including the bathrooms!) Made it easy for everyone to be comfortable. The furniture was comfortable and the big tv was nice!You must be very careful driving in the area, especially at night... we saw many, many deer over the 3 days there. The Bear decor was cute... we kept discovering more items! We would go back here without hesitation - hopefully for a longer visit. A couple of friendly suggestions for the hosts... we were a group of 4 women in our 60's and early 70s. A railing or post to hold on to would have been helpful for the steps to the porch. And in the "kids" room, a reading light, controllable from the twin beds would have been handy. The overhead light wasn't really good for reading, and you had to get out of bed to shut it off.

Great Escape from the City

We had a great stay. The cabin was excellent, exactly as advertised with a perfect amount of space for a quick getaway. Clean and comfortable, it was a great base to explore the area over a long holiday weekend. Matt was available and happy to answer any questions. Definitely recommend and would stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Our family does a yearly family vacation and when we are somewhere we take day trips to surrounding areas. We were able to let my step daughter see her grandparents on her mom’s side who she hadn’t seen in years. We also took a train into the city. It was nice to be able to come back to the quiet of this little place to relax and get ready for the next day. If we return to New York we definitely will look at staying here again.

Quiet and cozy!

Our stay was great! It was located in a small quiet neighborhood that was close to many small towns. The accessible bathrooms/walkin showers were perfect for my elderly mother. Matt was kind enough to check in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again!

Super clean, super private, super quiet!

What a great property. This location is perfect, and the host (Matt) responds quickly to any questions. As the title states, the house is spotless, and on a quiet street (dead end, with no thru traffic). Everything is exactly as pictured in the listing.

Perfect weekend getaway

I rented this house for a weekend getaway for a wedding in the area. Everything we could possibly need was supplied by the hosts. Plenty of nearby shops to stock the kitchen with anything you could think of for your stay. Would highly recommend booking this place. Hope to stay there again sometime. Just what we needed

Booked this property for a long weekend trip to take our son and his friend snowboarding for my son’s 16th birthday, and it was perfect! The home was very welcoming and every room was very clean. Anything that would be needed for a home away from home stay was available. This host was very communicative from the moment we booked, during the stay confirming we had everything we needed and even after the stay to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Definitely a 5 star host and would absolutely book again!

Super clean

This was a super clean cozy place. Everything worked fine and had most everything we needed for our stay. There is security cameras on the outside of the house which I understand but one was just pointing at the table on the deck. I covered it during my stay , brought it to their attention. Hopefully they understand and do something about it. Kinda weird felt like I was just being watched.

Pure relaxation!

I came for a little get away from real life before because a gestational carrier and it absolutely did not disappoint! The only bad part of my time was the constant rain but the property was so amazing, I hardly noticed. Everything was so clean and cozy. I would recommend this place to anyone and will definitely consider visiting again if I’m in the area. Thanks for sharing your home with me!

The bear theme at the lodge is a good conversation piece

One of the questions we debated about was if the bear theme is applied after the Matt Coney'beare'? Plus, it is wonderfully done. Another question - Had to hire an interior decorator? or just applied theme off a home ideas somewhere? Overall the pieces, furniture, utilities, equipment - all were working as expected. Spacious and well organized property. Charging ports everywhere, speakers and apple devices here and there. Netflix etc. subscriptions available- everything a guest desires for just 'another home away from home' experience was there. Neighborhood seemed good. Spotted some deers in the backyard woods in the morning. Nothing bad at all about the property. Just one door of the main bathroom does not lock. Not sure if that is on purpose for child safety or it broke. I am sure, the next guest could ask Matt if he has fixed it.
