John Gyles Music Room & Inn
We had an excellent stay at this very nice Inn and Music Room. The owner went above and beyond to make sure our stay was exceptional. He called us while we were travelling to inquire if we would want dinner and even though we would be getting to the hotel after the restaurant was closed, he made sure we had a nice dinner when we arrived. First class place and people!!

John Gyles has taken a basic motel and added some cool decorative updates to give it an almost retro feel without being pretentious. The beds are very comfortable, the rooms are clean, the towels are white and the water pressure is fantastic! But the best part is the great food and even greater live music on a Saturday night. Expect a warm welcome (furry friends too if you call ahead), and exceptional service. I'll definitely be back on my many trips between Ontario and Nova Scotia.

Even saw our first moose!
Late night check in for a quick overnight. Wish we could have spent more time, seemed like a cool spot, bar was not open when we were there, but I imagine it can be a hopping place! Near the highway, very comfortable room, super clean. We saw the only moose on our trip in the field behind the motor lodge from our bathroom window the following morning - yay!

Arrived on karaoke night and immediately told if we wanted to eat we had better hurry. Later saw other visitors turned away even though the restaurant was substantially empty. Other than this the room was quiet, bed was reasonable and the room rate was good

We would rather be honest with you than have you miss out on the delicious food. Our food is very popular in this area and so is the Karaoke on Friday's...if we turned away locals from the area it's because our tables were reserved and people had yet to arrive. The rooms are indeed quiet even during evenings with music due to a very thick wall that surrounds the building...thanks for the review but clarification was needed in this case.

Very happy with our stay. Hosts were friendly and accommodating. Called in advance to let us know the restaurant wouldn't be open so we could plan acccordingly. Room was basic but clean and comfortable. Coffee in room. We would definitely stay there again.

It's a hidden gem. Stopped there after 11 hour drive from Ontario heading to PEI. This will forever be my stop. Cheap yet cozier better food and service then a Brand name hotel.. talked to locals aroudn town and they said it's the best food in Woodstock!! My only issue was check in was alittle confusing at first cause there is no check in desk but there is a paper with a number and you just give them a call! So simple and easier then a hotel!

We were treated like family by the host of the inn. He called us in the afternoon of our stay to inform us that the restaurant was closed to the public that evening but would be serving fish and chips to guests if we were interested. We confirmed that we would love that and his claim that they were the best was confirmed, we enjoyed our last evening in New Brunswick at this delightful little place. It is a young couple that own it and you are getting the care and attention that comes from pride in ownership.

Fun overnight stay enroute to Halifax
Wonderful owners. They are both very good singers and entertained the motel guests with karaoke. The on-site pub has fantastic pizza. On the weekends they have live music. I'll definitely stay there again, and will try to go on a weekend next time. I was travelling alone and felt very comfortable and safe.

Easy to miss but that would be a shame.
The owner went way above and beyond for me during my stay. The room was immaculate and well maintained during my stay. I will definitely be staying there when I go back to the area.

金曜夜のカラオケは一見の価値あり。
あまり観光客は立ち寄らないであろうWoodstockという町の更に町外れにあります。HWYからすぐ。Woodstockの町までは10分ほど。スーパーやファーストフード店もあり食事には困らないと思います。駐車場も広くて停めやすい。Wifi 弱め、なかなかつながらない時があります。 部屋は狭い方ですが清潔です。冷蔵庫、電子レンジがありますが食事用のテーブルがないため不便です。外にイスがあり、そこでコーヒーやビールを飲みながら庭や川、道行く車を眺めゆっくりできます。 併設されているレストラン&バーはおすすめ。カナダ?アメリカ?的なボリュームある食事ですが美味しい。高さ20センチはあろうかというハンバーガーが出てきます。値段相応。そしてホテルの名前通り金曜の夜はカラオケ大会。純粋に歌うことを楽しんでいて健全な雰囲気のレストランです。食事を味わいながら一緒に楽しめると思います。

The locatiaon is very good, 3 minuets off the highway, at a river side country village, quite and beautiful, staffs are very nice, the welcome gift is a free beer for every adult! Very unique place,!

A delightful property. Essentially a motel with the amenities of a hotel and the warmth of welcome like coming to visit old friends. An impressive little restaurant, very attractive, live music on the weekends -- and where did they find their chef?! The lobster roll was big and full and better than any I'd had in Maine, and a better value than any I've ever had ... anywhere! John Gyles is now on my way to wherever I'm traveling in the Maritimes.

The service was very friendly and we had a delicious meal at the pub. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. We had been looking forward to live music at the pub as it was a Saturday night but sadly no one was booked for that night.

La chambre est très propre et le personnel accueillant. Le restaurant est bon, dans le style "pub", le meilleur endroit dans la région. Les corridors extérieurs pourraient être mieux entretenus. Somme toute, c'est un bon endroit où arrêter en route vers l'Île du Prince-Edouard et nous y retournerons.

With being in a rural area we are limited with wifi options and while most days are good we do sometimes experience moments of weakness. If the rest of your stay was enjoyable is there any chance of squeezing a another star out of you? 😉

Hotel convenient to the Trans Canada hwy.
Hotel was adequate. Good food with large portions and friendly staff. Hotel close to Trans Canada Hwy so easy to get going in the morning. Restaurant attached to hotel is not open for breakfast. Comfortable bed. Would ask for top floor next time as you could hear every creak in the floor above us.

It appears most of your needs were met...we appreciate the feedback however some things we can't control due to the construction of building in the 70s...I'm thinking 3 stars is low considering this feedback.
