Great Cabin for a fishing trip to Sam Rayburn

This property provides a comfortable stay for 4 or mor adults. Convenient check in process, Satellite Cable, stove, microwave, and refrigerator. Plenty of seating in the cabin. The front porch area looked cozy but we didn’t use it so much. The grill was a very nice added bonus. Very close to the boat ramp is an added benefit.

Convenient location

Only a short drive to boat ramp and 6 miles from Brookshires grocery store. Very convenient! Place was clean and has a nice porch to sit and have morning coffee. Loved the owner’s dog! So friendly and always ready to play. Had a good time but fishing wasn’t good so left early on account of storms coming in with cold front.

Close for fishing Lake Sam Rayburn.

The property was perfect for being close to the lake and easy access to a boat ramp. The only negative that we had was that we planned to use the grill to cook but it was not in usable condition.

Vacay at the lake

We stayed at #1 cabin for about 6 weeks while waiting to move into our new Lufkin house. Our experience was good.. relaxing. Neighbors friendly but not intrusive. We enjoyed our daily walks to the lake to see how far the flooding waters receded. Ken was most accommodating. Would do anything we asked. All in all.. a good experience.

Not a place to stay for a special event, would be fine for just for fishing or hunting! No closets to hang things, a Keurig coffee pot but not a regular one. Gas stove and oven that couldn’t get the oven to work.

Rustic cabin

Overall positive experience. Ken was very friendly and the location was super close to the boat ramp. Kitchen was well stocked. WiFi was inconsistent and all mattresses need replacing as they are extremely squishy. Definitely a rustic place for fishing and/or hunting but met our needs for sure.

Fishing Tournament Stay

We booked the property for my husband to attend a fishing tournament. My husband told me the wrong dates at first but Kenneth was easy to work with and got the dates changed for us in a timely manner. My husband and his brother had a great time.

Our boys are on the high school fishing team and we have a lot of tournaments on Sam Rayburn. This was a perfect spot to stay! Plenty of room and lots of space to let the dogs play!

Great quiet little area to relax and fish.

Great. Place was clean and quiet. Only things I would change at the cabin is the gas grill and two mattress. Overall great place to stay and I will return. Thanks Ken.

Horrible Experience

We have stayed at many cabins at many lakes this happens to be the worst one. I booked this cabin due to the amenities listed on the site. The cabin might of been recently remodeled ten years ago. When we got there we were not even sure what cabin we where in no host. The cabin smelt like mold and dark as a cave no wi-fi, no washer and dryer ,no stock kitchen and no working grill as shown in amenities. I called the host Ken he said he would take care of the wi-fi never heard from him again. We left Friday morning one day early. This place needs a lot of work to be fit for being listed as rustic more like Horrible Experience Rent At Your Own Risk!!

Breath of fresh air

Our stay in paw paw’s cabin was a breath of fresh air ! We needed a relaxing get away close to home but somewhere away from people and this fit the Bill. We loved it ! Everything was as pictured and we would def come back again !

Switched Cabin on me while I was on rode day of arrival

I’m writing this review because I should have been called when Landlord switched my cabin at the last second . I rented what seem to be a nice cabin and when I arrived it was a terrible place . Foam ceiling duct taped at joints No stove , no Internet, no ice trays , plywood ceilings in bedrooms, red wasp inside and the only door would not lock so while I’m fishing a tournament anyone could enter and rob my gear. I drove 2 1/2 hours there left that night after I realized this wasn’t the cabin I paid for. Drove 2 1/2 hours home no sleep then left 2:00 a.m. Saturday morning drove to Sam Rayburn fished all day then repeated Sunday. Terrible experience and I would not recommend this property. He blamed it on ice storm that happened two weeks ago.
