Very pleasant stay. Clean room and helpful staff (although available hours were limited to check-in and check-out times). Great location close to train station, Gornergrat Railway, and the main street. We could see the Matterhorn from our window. We appreciated the shared amenities, from well-equipped kitchen and canteen area to luggage storage we used before check-in to laundry (for a small fee).

It was one of the most memorable hotels during my month-long trip in Europe. The hotel was located just 30 seconds away from the train station, which was very convenient. Although the bathroom and kitchen were shared, they were clean and well-maintained.

Convenient, clean, good kitchen area. I stayed in the shared female dorm. Each person gets a bunk and a small locker. The room could use curtains around the bunks and places to sit. There’s also only one bathroom, sink, and shower per floor, so that can get tricky. Also maybe this is the paranoid American in me, but the women’s dorm is nearly ground-level, and the huge windows (without screens) are such that if someone wanted to jump in from off the street, they could. That made me a bit uneasy, but maybe that’s not a big concern here.

A very good hybrid of hotel and hostel. And location just across the road from the train station was perfect when travelling by train with luggage. My single room was simple and basic, with shared bathrooms/toilets, but was clean and comfortable. I had some concerns initially but sharing facilites wasnt problematic. A small balcony with a view (sometimes!) of the majestic Matterhorn was great!
