“Mahesa Bhagwan was the highlight of our time in Sri Lanka without a doubt - if you are tossing up whether to book, I hope this review convinces you! I am so happy I booked this place and feel it was absolutely worth every penny - every time we returned after a busy day exploring Jaffna, it felt like coming home to an oasis. It is a simple and beautifully restored house but every detail of your stay is seen to. The staff at Mahesa are an absolute credit to Jetwing, they absolutely made our stay……
“Converted Villa with 4 rooms in Jaffna suburbs. Nicely converted with pool, garden and small dining area. Accommodation roomy but with no natural light. TV with several English language channels - news and other. Good air conditioning and kettle provided. Hosts are helpful and on hand, this is definitely more of a home stay than a hotel.
Food is available but needs to be brought in from outside. Breakfasts were good - ordered the night before.
Pool is very nice but avoid around 5pm when the……
“We had bioked with breakfast for the whole stay. It’s very tasty and different dishes on every morning. Mr. Ravi is the Chef and he was asking us what we like to have a breakfast and he prepared the dishes. I strongly recommend this hotel in Maruthanarmadam, Jaffna ”

“Reserved thro expedia for a week. When call them that we were running late and checking a bit late , the guy Rajan told no longer the reservation is honoured and cancelled. So diagusting and rude was that. We flew from Far far away ie Toronto and this is so horrible and shocking .first time we ever had to face such a situation at last minute. Who will take responsible..who will straighten up this.. is exledia do something about it.. i dont want anybody go through this in their vacation……
“All of the staff were amazing, at breakfast they somehow sensed when I wanted some more tea! The food was really delicious, a great selection of curries (as well as western foods - although I stuck with the local fare). The hotel location was very central and made it easy to see some of the sites in the city centre (market, fort, old kachcheri etc.). If I was planning a trip to Jaffna in the future, I would definitely stay here again.”
“D'Villa, one of the two properties owned by the owner of this place, is a welcoming and pleasant mansion. Guests occupy the upper part of the house, on the first floor. The rooms equipped with private bathroom surround a communal area tastefully decorated where one can have a breakfast or get involved in conversations with other travelers. Tea is free ! And put at disposal of any room occupant. That is, one can simply help oneself and prepare a cup of tea. Very thoughtful! The primary intention……
“The parking area and the drive was muddy. When I came back after dinner around 9.30 pm the Auto dropped me outside the gate and ended up walking in soggy mud to reach the hotel foyer. After that spent about 20 to 30 miniutes cleaning my shoes. Not enough 13 amp socket outlets. Only one socket outlet for mobile router, mobile battery charger, etc. Some corners of the room floor, walls and the ceiling were not cleaned properly. See photos.”
“The property looks like a makeshift building. Windows were covered with wooden panels, spiderwebs filled up spaces where the sunlight didn't reach, the bathroom was not clean and the mirror was bathed in calc. There's no reception to leave your bags. The chairs in the eating area are rusty and dirty.”
“Due to the Full-moon celebrations we had made a booking days in advance, which had been confirmed in writing. On the day of arrival when we called the hotel to inform that our train would be an hour late, they claimed we didn’t have a booking. They even put the phone down on us. ”
