基林 (Killin) 村位處泰湖 (Loch Tay) 西岸，地勢崎嶇多山，卻風光不殊；加上鄰近步徑與水道交織，成就出理想探索據點。這裡亦是惡名昭彰之 MacNab 黨的根據地，於詹姆斯黨叛亂 (Jacobite Risings) 中扮演重要角色。一場來到，何不順便帶一點食物，好好在群峰之間野餐一頓，盡賞美景！

沿著村內的多赫特河 (River Dochart) 岸濱漫行，沉醉於寧謐氛圍之中；過橋之後，多赫特瀑布 (Falls of Dochart)於新視窗中開啟即在您眼前傾注，磅礡之勢每每吸引全國遊人來訪，為其自然景色與源遠歷史迷醉。

泰河長逾 14 英里 (約 23 公里)，可說是玩樂活動中心：您既可向基林戶外中心暨登山店 (Killin Outdoor Centre and Mountain Shop) 租用船艇與攀山用具，亦可試釣三文魚，又或划橡皮艇泛舟湖上；踏攀山單車同屬好玩之選，繞湖而行，即可從多角度細賞一池琉璃！

驅車南行 20 分鐘，您便會抵達熱門水上運動殿堂—厄爾湖 (Loch Earn)，並可遊訪巴爾惠德教堂 (Balquhidder Church)於新視窗中開啟遺跡與現代新建教區堂舍；而全蘇格蘭最凶悍的土匪羅布羅伊 (Rob Roy MacGregor) 正是安葬於此，不容錯過！

全年之間，此地以 7 月最炎熱，4 月最乾燥；本地人都懂講英語，惟本土母語蓋爾古語 (Gaelic) 已漸漸失傳。

"Best Cottage I've ever been. So beautiful inside and outside. Best place to come "home" after a long day on the road. The garden is a great place to have wee dram and to watch the deers. :)Really great contact to the owners :)"
