「Much of the typical Lake George activities were closed since we visited during April, but we were very happy to stay here and will definitely return! It was the perfect space for us two (with extra to fit an additional friend or 2). Owner provided towels, pans, grill, coffee, etc for the stay which is greatly appreciated. It was close distance to anywhere we needed to go for groceries, activities, stores! Sad to go but I look forward to future travels here :)」

「My family and some friends stayed here for the weekend while attending a wedding down the street at Juniper Springs Barn. The cabin was in great condition and exactly as listed. There were lots of bedrooms for all the adults and kids and two large family rooms for relaxing space for everyone. Each night we enjoyed cocktails in the enclosed porch while the kids fell asleep. We were worried that the house would be hot in the summer but the owners provided many AC units and fans which kept the home...

It's completely charming, close to the Boat Museum, an easy walk to the central shopping/eating area, and a long stone's throw to The River. Communication with the landlady is easy & thorough. 「Everything about the cottage and dock were as described. The views were great, quiet, relaxing. The wineries were very good, and the fishing off of the dock was great, we caught perch, catfish, large and small mouth bass. Location was perfect right between downtown Clayton and Alex bay. Susan and Ben responded quickly if we had a question. I would recommend this cottage.」

「We loved our stay for the 2024 total eclipse! The house is on a hill with beautiful mountains all around, and it is very quiet - it's like you have the mountains to yourself. The house itself is one of the most comfortable my family of 4 has rented and not cramped like many rentals. The living room is huge with plenty of seats, there is room around the table to easily seat 6, and the kitchen is big enough for multiple cooks. Even the bedrooms are big - not just big enough to fit a bed, but...

「Highland Cottage is a great local stay in Lake Placid. Yes, the bed is up in the loft and you can’t stand up, but that was no issue for us. We loved the place and will be back.」
