We were looking for a quiet and peaceful getaway from the city. This quaint cottage served as a great home base for doing so. It is a nice-sized cottage for 2 people, with a nice back deck and beautiful view. It is about 15 minutes from Appalachian Trail hiking and/or the Blue Ridge Tunnel (which was very cool). We were able to navigate to various other vineyards in the area, with the furthest in Charlottesville about 40 minutes away.
The only negative I will say, and it depends on what you are looking for, is that you are in the middle of nowhere. Again, this is what we wanted, but I will say our only complaint was the challenges with getting Uber, or other transportation. There isn't much on the property outside of the vineyard from 11:00-5:00, and so anything you do will be offsite, and requires driving/transportation.
Would highly recommend for a long weekend getaway.
