Awesome, quite out of the bustle of people. Floor to ceiling windows looking right onto the beach and ocean. Beautiful serene place for a quiet vacation. Rented a golf cart to get around. Swam with turtles in Akumal Bay. Very close walk to Yalku. Kitchen has everything needed, but make sure you stop for groceries on the way. Many good restaurants within easy walking distance.LOTS of stairs to the unit, so be prepared.

Nice pool and close snorkeling activities (walking distance and water front). We were unlucky with 18h of power outtage with no AC. Area is nice omce you pass the front gate and enter the garden.

Fantastic Getaway

The condo was everything the listing said. Definitely not a party atmosphere very quiet town. Property manager responded to my emails promptly and housekeeping was on point. Definitely recommend.

Great location on the beach!

This condo is in a quiet area, at the end of the road. Right across the street from a national guard post, so we all felt super safe all week! The condo is perfect! The sound of the waves heard all day long, plus balconies off both bedrooms. The pool is great for cooling off and the snorkeling right off the beach was awesome! We saw lots of fish, a ray, and lots of coral. Renting bikes down the street made it really easy to get around and there are restaurants and convenience stores close by as well. We’ll definitely come back!

Could be perfect

There are many positives about this apartment block. The location is fabulous, right on the coastline with wonderful views, the gardens are beautiful, the pool area is lovely, the sand/sunbathing area is great and all outdoor areas are well maintained. There is a great restaurant nearby; AK served the best, healthiest tacos of our entire trip so far (this was our fourth location in Mexico). However, there were aspects that we found disappointing. We felt the apartment was dated and tired. We did contact the management company and, in fairness to them, they sent someone to see us who resolved some of our issues. For instance new bathroom towels and a working coffee maker were provided. We would have appreciated a house manual as, for example, it took us ages to find the Wi-Fi code which was stuck to the freezer door! Hopefully the company will find our feedback useful as, with very little expenditure, this apartment could be fantastic.

Beautiful stay at Halfmoon Bay

We had a great time in Akumal at La Sirena Condos. Everyone in the complex was friendly and helpful, and Kilo was so sweet to be on guard. We did have hot water issues as has been mentioned in other reviews. Daily contact and problem solving by the condo owners and maintenance team finally had it fixed for our second week. Hopefully, it will remain fixed for others now! The condo is well stocked, the linens are tired but the place is clean and comfortable. We still had to pin up a sheet over the front bedroom window for privacy even though we were told that privacy curtains had been installed. Yes, but just little side panels! The garden and pool area is beautiful, well maintained and so relaxing for when it is too windy to be in the ocean. We loved the snorkeling right off the beach and Yal Kul is just around the corner! Make sure to visit Chino at AK across the street and try the Tulum turtle beer. La Lunita was beautiful for the full moon. It was a fun time and wish we could have stayed longer!

Great View But Cold Showers with no pressure

The condo was clean, except for the floors. There was always water and I couldn't believe it, maid service. The view is spectacular! It was easy to contact the admin person. My biggest complaint when you snorkel and swim every day was the total lack of water pressure and no warm water.

Felt like a secret portal to relaxation

Wonderfully comfortable 2 bed 2 bath with amazing views. My wife and I absolutely loved the unit, the location and the neighborhood. It was like a retreat, yet very close to good restaurants, coffee place and Snorkling.

Almost perfect!

4.5 stars. Great location for our purposes. We didn’t use the pool, but it looked very nice and the surrounding garden area is well cared for and landscaped beautifully. Beach area is great. Condo was clean and furnished nicely. Comfortable king bed (we didn’t use the second one). Kitchen is well equipped. Linens and towels are slightly worn, but serviceable. Our only issue was the water pressure in both bathrooms was VERY VERY low (sinks and showers). We contacted management company and they sent maintenance that same day, but could not resolve. It also takes a VERY LONG time for hot water to reach the master shower. Mostly an annoyance, but should be investigated further. Management company indicated they planned to notify the owners.

Beautiful ocean-side condo!

Third floor views looking out on palm trees against the ocean could not be more idyllic. The beach area with thatched huts and lounge chairs is perfect and then the bay is really fantastic for snorkeling. Property is at the very northern end of half-moon bay but we were just fine with that.

Hidden Gem in Akumal

Enjoyed a quiet week in Akumal enjoying all the Half Moon Bay area has to offer. We rested and read by the sea, snorkeled in the bay and at the beautiful lagoon a 5 minute walk from the property and wonderful restaurants just up the road, accessed by foot or a short drive away. Couldn’t have been happier with the condo, location and helpful property management team.

Family Stay in Akumal

The property is located in a very nice gated community with a few restaurants and bars within walking distance. There is no sand beach right in front of the condo, but one can easily access close by other sand beaches within the gated community. You can still swim or snorkel in front of the condo, but protective swim shoes are definitely recommended. The condo was very clean and the view of the sea from the living room and front balcony is amazing. We had a great time!

Beautiful location

The property looks just like the pictures its beautiful but, the only negative thing I can say is there was little tiny bugs looked like fruit flies all over the kitchen. The bugs got into our food and it made us uncomfortable leaving anything out or eating at the property.

This is a wonderful property located in a private area and on the water.

We loved staying here so much! It is a quiet, small, older condo complex with beautiful gardens around the pool and gorgeous views of the sea! We were able to have coffee overlooking the water every morning and beers on the beach every night. We could easily walk to the local store and restaurant, and had easy access to the fruit market, larger grocery, and local food just across the Highway in Akumal Pueblo. There was so much to do around Akumal — we especially loved all of the cenotes, scuba diving, and volunteering at Akumal Natura Rescue. The condo had everything you might need for a great trip and Francesca was so helpful. We really enjoyed all of the people who stayed there too. A great place for a family get away. Thank you!!

Paradise

The property was fully equipped and we had a wonderful month long stay. Akumal is as safe as it gets. Gardens, pool and beachfront palapas combine for a perfect getaway from the snow up north.

Amazing view

Can’t beat the location and the snorkeling in half moon bay. Unit was quiet, and the pool was nice. Short walk to restaurants. Unit itself wasn’t glamorous, but you can’t beat the location. The staff at La Sirena were super friendly and helpful.

My experience

The La Sirena 13 is a nice 3rd floor unit with a great view of the ocean, with good snorkeling right off the beach. It was nice to have housekeeping clean and make the beds every day. The location is good, and we felt safe enough to take walks after dark. The unit was equipped with the necessary appliances, such as a coffee pot, toaster, and a good assortment of kitchen pots and pans, etc. We especially welcomed the help of Akumel Direct Guest Services. David was my contact in guest support, and he was very responsive to my requests. David provided suggestions and made reservations as needed. We would come back to La Sirena 13.

good spot, condo has problems

The pictures must have been taken a long time ago. the tiles on the patio are badly buckled causing a tripping hazard and the back patio is unusable since the ties to the hanging seat are frayed enough to break if you sit. The worst thing they do not mention is that the condo is on the 3rd floor but the ceilings are very high so it is a walk-up of 5 flights of stairs. Doable, but not good for walking outside for a while and sitting by the water especially if you must use the facilities. That said, the lay-on is very nice and the rooms are comfortable. It is on a quiet street and friendly people.
