It was the nicest hostel that I have stayed at. Great location on the main street in Akureyri. Not the most social hostel I have stayed at though.

We had a good stay here. The kitchen was a fully-equipped industrial kitchen with a very efficient dishwasher and lots of utensils, as well of heaps of space to sit in the common area. There was also free coffee and tea. Plenty of bathrooms were provided and they were clean and comfortable. The staff were also friendly to us. The pods were comfortable and there was a lot of room to store your belongings, as well as more room on shelves outside (less safe, but that wasn't an issue for us). The little lights in the pods didn't seem to go out at night, which was a little annoying, but we just covered them up. There was a TV in the pod that you could cast to, so that was nice, and the Wi-Fi worked well—I was able to take several Zoom calls with no issues. The soundproofing between the pods and the hallways isn't great, and it didn't seem like quiet hours were enforced. A large group of teenagers were quite loud during the night, so that was a bit frustrating and disrupted our sleep. Luggage storage was provided, but as it cost money, most people just seemed to put their bags on the shelves.

Clean, calm, well equipped, spacious. Free coffee. All good. I read comments about noise. It's true that pods aren't sound-proof but people are silent. And anyway it's a hostel, not a hotel, so basically when you have bunk beds in a hostel you know there are going to be people around. The only thing I don't understand is why you are only supposed to send emails if you have questions whereas there are so many staff members working there all day long. Like, is it forbidden to talk to them ? That's weird.

Great hostel, perfect location, very clean with plenty of bathrooms (which we were concerned about after reading other reviews). Staffless check-in worked fine. Oh, and excellent free coffee! Only complaint is that the pod was too warm, with no way to control the temperature apart from a fairly ineffective fan.

The pods were surprisingly comfortable. The common areas were well taken care of, and beautifully decorated. There were plenty of bathrooms - sometimes a worry at hostels. It was definitely one of the best hostels we have stayed in. It is right in the center of town, so perfect location to see Akureyri.

Confortable et propre

Hôtel confortable pour des pods. Les sanitaires sont très propres, une cuisine est a disposition ainsi que des petits salons (dont un avec un billard). Les pods sont rassemblés en 3 salles différentes (environ 20 pods par salle), ce qui permet de réduire les potentielles nuisances sonores.

I really enjoyed the single capsules and the open kitchen plan, as well as the quiet/respectful guest arrangements. I will absolutely stay here again, and for longer if possible, as it’s very quaint and it’s in the middle of the town. Thank you for an amazing stay and keep up the amazing work!
