Great hotel- fantastic pool area. Very comfortable beds but you can hear the traffic but wouldn’t stop us from going back. Very central position- Spar shop only a few minutes walk away, lots of restaurants and shops nearby. 10 mins walk to the strip and 20 minutes to old town. Taxis are extremely reasonable. Would definitely go back

Nous regrettons amèrement d’avoir choisi cet hôtel. Nous avons passé 4 nuits, les 3 premières nous n’avons pratiquement pas dormi. D’abord parce que notre chambre était située entre deux bars, celui à l’arrière et celui en avant ( restaurant bar chinois). La porte était très mal isolée, d’ailleurs on voyait le jour sous la porte et sur le côté. Ensuite, c’était le party dans l’hôtel avec aucun contrôle du personnel… une nuit ça criait d’un balcon à l’autre jusqu’à 6:00 am. Evidemment on a été se plaindre à la réception et nous avons réussis à dormir un peu plus par la suite, le bruit cessant vers 1:00 am. Aucun respect pour les personnes qui voulaient dormir. Par contre, point positif, piscine bien entretenue et miniputt joli mais difficile . Le ménage n’est pas fait pendant le séjour, une seule fois changement de serviettes. Pas de savon pour les mains dans la cuisinette, pas de détergent pour lave-vaisselle ni cafetière . Nous ne recommanderons assurément pas cet hôtel

Hotel is very good, good location but check in took forever. Rooms are very spacious. Pool is a good size. Pints of beer/cider 5 euro a pint. Chinese across the road very nice.

Came up on family friendly option but was full of noisy drunken stag do’s. The rooms were run down and dirty like most of the hotel - what food there was was overpriced and frankly disgusting. It’s a budget option so don’t be put off if that’s all you need but we found other, better places for the same price nearby

Great, comfortable stay

A group of us stayed for 3 nights and all of us were very happy with the hotel, the service we received and the excellent location. The beds and umbrellas around the pool area seem to be recently updated, the entire hotel was spotlessly clean, reception staff were friendly and helpful. The beds were very comfortable (We stayed in the pool studios). We did have some noise from other guests, and we could hear noise from other rooms, but it is to be expected due to the location, it is close to the strip. Whilst it is close to the Strip it is also far enough away that you can relax and feel remove from it. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in Albufeira!

Hotel if fine but deposit policy is a farce

Nothing at all wrong with the hotel, it's nice and comfortable and the room was clean and tidy. Pool is lovely too although we spent most of our stay out and about in town. My gripe is that the deposit they require they insisted in paying in cash. The paperwork was not clear on this and I expected to be able to do this on a card and they money to be held on that until we left. As a result this cleaned me out of the cash I brought on the trip, in fact I had to lend some off someone else, and then on the last day they hand it back to you. Not much good now I'm leaving! Not sure if this was because we were an all male party but it was very unusual and the staff acted cagily when we checked in.

We came close to the end of October. The indoor pool heater was broken which made even that pool not very enjoyable. And the outside temperature has not been great for swimming outdoors. The 2 bedroom apartment was clean and spacious for a family of 5. The beds were very uncomfortable and the noise was very loud from restaurants and bar near hotel till 2am. Which made it hard to sleep. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. It’s in a nice location.

Family of 4 - August 2025

August 2025, family of 4 stayed in a two bedroom apartment on the second floor. First time in Portugal I really didn’t know where to choose to stay, mixed reviews about the accommodation but I just went with it. Lovely friendly staff, beautiful pool, great location and the apartment was clean, spacious, kitchen well equipped and the apartment cleaned daily. Some parts of the hotel could do with being modernised but it really wasn’t a big deal. The safe was located beside reception and easy to access 24/7. The pool had a mix of majority families and a few groups of girls and fellas in their 20/30s, no issues with unacceptable behaviour at all, everyone was just enjoying themselves. Some families there were saying it was their second or third year coming back. There is a pool bar which serves drinks and snacks. The strip was a 7 minute walk, the old town a 25 minute walk and the beach 15 min walk. Ubers between 3-4 euro so easy to get about if you don’t fancy walking. So in summary an enjoyable stay at the Ondamar, good location, safe environment and lovely staff.

Do not stay in this hotel under any circumstances. We’d booked a room of 4 with 4 single beds around 6 months before our trip. We turned up and checked into the room and there were 2 singles and the other two “beds” were a leather sofa that didn’t even pull out as a bed and also a mattress on the floor. When I went down to reception to complain, I was told there was nothing they could do. I even opened hotels.com and found other rooms on there and requested they put two of us in there and they said they couldn’t. Completely un acceptable and ruined our holiday

The hotel was a sad place to be, with zero atmosphere or ambiance. the check in staff looked unhappy, it was dark, everything was locked and most of the hotel isn't in use. It's noisy, because there there is hard surfaces everywhere, so the sound bounces. The one positive, was the rooms. They had been renovated and looked "fairly new" but the bathrooms was still cheap, lacked light and nicer fixtures and fittings. The bed was comfy and the water was hot and we had a little kitchen area which is obviously good for longer stays. We we told that they dont cater for groups, stag or hen parties, but that's all we seemed to find at the pool. Loud, drunk, youngsters, shouting and screaming. It was an uncomfortable place to be, so much so, we left immediately. I can see the hotel looked like it was a great place to be, but it's just a sad, dark place with no life to it. I'm glad we were only staying for one night, because we couldn't wait to get out of there.

Firstly the beds are really uncomfortable and sleeping was tough enough but add stags parties into the mix having parties on their balconies until 7 am sleep became an added bonus. The complex overall needs some TLC as lots of minor things need fixing, door handles, lights switches and toilets to name but a few. The pool area is nice and clean the gardener does a great job of clearing loose leaves at 8 am every day with his exceptionally loud leaf blower but thats ok because he might wake up the stags party which finished an hour previous. The only dining option open at the time was the poolside bar all other indoor options were closed even though it is May, ordering a drink here became a challenge as they ran out of draft beer and when offered the option of a bottled beer this was taken however, this beer is usually served with lemon or lime inserted but regrettable neither fruit was available. The staff seem to be disinterested in the guests and rarely engage in a meaningful way when approached at the desk. Overall Ondamar although a nice building it needs some care and attention.

Bon accueil, mais quelques points à améliorer. Le nettoyage de notre studio n’a pas été effectué correctement. Nous avons demandé à l’accueil ce que comprenait exactement le service de ménage. Nous avons signalé que la table n’avait pas été nettoyée, le cendrier n’avait pas été vidé, et la vaisselle n’était pas faite. Seuls le lit avait été refait et un rapide passage de l’aspirateur semblait avoir été fait. De plus, le pommeau de douche était cassé. Il serait utile de vérifier le bon fonctionnement de vos installations avant l’arrivée des clients. L’état général du lieu est plutôt mitigé, avec de nombreux signes d’usure. Les transats sont réservés par des serviettes dès 7h30 du matin, ce qui rend impossible d’en trouver un à 10h. Cela a limité notre capacité à profiter pleinement de la piscine avec notre bébé, faute de pouvoir trouver de l’ombre. Le pataugeoire n’est pas nettoyé régulièrement, bien que des enfants y jouent. Un petit coup de filet serait apprécié. Il serait également utile de placer un règlement dans les chambres pour éviter que des jeunes alcoolisés crient dans les couloirs à 2h du matin. En ce qui concerne le rapport qualité-prix, je pense qu’il pourrait être amélioré. À ce prix, il est possible de trouver mieux ailleurs. Cependant, nous avons tout de même passé un bon séjour malgré ces désagréments.

Appreciated the housekeeping and when asked for ice for my mom when she fell, they sent some right away. Would be nice to have dish soap and a sponge and a starter bottle of water for the room. We arrived past midnight so could not get any groceries. Staff was very friendly and nice. My sister’s crib was not in the room for her baby and couldn’t get one until the next day. When she got it, it didn’t fit in the bedroom. The process of getting pool towels is not Efficient. Waited 30 min in line along with people getting food and beer and I just needed 1 towel. Poor staff needs more help. Would be good to have another area to help with towels. Fresh water and fruit in the entrance is nice. Front desk staff helpful with getting directions to the train.

Excellent hotel, clean throughout, large appartments and the outside pool area is superb. Good sunbeds and the pool is very clean.

Það var aðeins einn stóll à svölunum sem er óásættanlegt, starfsfólkið gat ekkert gert. Við fórum og keyptum nýjan stól. Enginn tappi í baðinu og bara hægt að fara í sturtu. Ekki hægt að fá tappa. Snyrtilegt hótel en of há tónlist í garðinum.
