Heron View Riverside Retreat in Peaceful Rural Hamlet near Roman Town, Alcester

Traditional self-catering accommodation, suitable for a couple. Sky TV, 46 inch screen. Ideal for theatre goers, fishermen and those who enjoy the tranquility of the countryside. The property includes separate secure access, porch, lounge/kitchen/diner, double bedroom, bathroom with over bath shower and use of the delightful riverfront gardens. Visitors have shared use of the riverside facilities, including gazebo, covered sitting area with fire pit, with our 16th century black and white thatched cottage. We are only ten minutes walk from the charming Roman town of Alcester where visitors can enjoy the town's history in the museum, local ales in the plentiful pubs, diverse taste in restaurants and cafes. Waitrose is ten minutes walk away as well as bijou shops and charity outlets to delight shoppers. Stately homes, Coughton Court, the National Trust property linked to Guy Faulks and the gunpowder plot and Ragley Hall are great for outings. Walkers can explore the Arden and Heart of England Way and Oversley Wood and Cold Comfort Wood on the doorstep. Stratford-upon-Avon, Evesham and the Cotswolds are nearby. Your hosts Caroline and Paul will make you most welcome.

A beautiful place to stay! Caroline and Paul were so friendly and welcoming.Spotlessly clean and equipped with everything you could possibly need!We had a lovely, relaxing break, the bed was very comfortable and the cottage was warm and cosy.The surrounding area was beautiful and it was nice to be close to Alcester so we could just wander down and have a meal and a little wander.

I stayed in this clean & comfortable cottage for a month and absolutely loved it. It had everything I wanted/ needed for a wonderful time,& the whole place was thoughtfully laid out. The bedroom had a king sized bed in a nice sized bedroom with a built in wardrobe, good bedside lighting, there was a great kitchen & bathroom both well supplied with thoughtful touches, great counter space, and storage. There was starter coffee,tea creamer, etc when I arrived, the owners even brought me fresh eggs from their chickens 1 week! They were the perfect mix of friendly while allowing me as much privacy as I wanted. The shared Yard; with a gazebo,the river flowing along the back of the property, chaise lawn chairs, a few respectful chickens and 2 of the sweetest dogs ever(only out on leash unless I requested they stay out with me) it was heaven. They had area brochures out 4 me, answered all my questions and even told me about some things in the area to see that I might have overlooked (IE the only pub with a National Trust Plaque), a forest a 3 minute walk away to explore, and lots of area walk brochures, which I took full advantage of. I even made a few friends & we did some great long walks. So a fabulous place, and the village & area was so lovely, The Cotswold's were a close drive and there were many other spots close by to see.(u do want a car) I will be back again the next time I come to the UK!

Truly peaceful cottage. Check in was so easy. The cottage was spotless - we really appreciated the toweling robes such a warm touch. The bathroom and kitchen were both sparkling clean. We were able to relax and take in the English country vibe. Thank you to our hosts who were so friendly and offered great advice of what to see and where to go. Thank you. We hope to be back next time we travel from Australia.

Quiet retreat

Heron View Cottage - A Gem

This accomodation is an absolute gem...from everything from the owners (Caroline & Paul) .....to the dogs (Clarabella, Amos & Rosie) to the chickens, the country garden and the River Arrow that runs along the bottom of it. The cottage itself is cosy and welcoming with a super king bed that provided a sounds nights sleep. The town is a 5 minute scenic walk and is very pretty. We intend to return.

Lovely apartment in the grounds of a beautiful listed building.The hosts were very welcoming. The parking was easy. There was a lovely local walk and several others within a short driving distance. The journey into Stratford was easy. We were there for a relaxing holiday and had a great time in this very tranquil spot.

A great base for a little R & R!

Lovely hideaway to recharge our batteries, but with so much to explore within a short distance. Alcester itself has lots of old world charm, and that's easily within walking distance. Stratford is also within a short drive away. All in all, this is a really lovely little property. It has everything you could want. The superking bed makes for a really good nights sleep. Wi fi & sky (huge) tv complete the perfect package. We weren't able to make use of the garden or river views as it was the first snowfall of the winter ( Nov 24) but in warmer weather, this would be the "icing on the cake". Can certainly 100% recommend. monthd. charm

lovely little house, close to Stratford upon Avon

We stayed for 5 nights, taking in Stratford upon Avon, National Trust houses and the Black Country Museum. The house is very comfortable and we slept very well indeed It is calm and quiet and well equipped. The owners are very helpful and friendly, but not invasive. All the check in information was very accurate. The welcome pack included fresh milk, coffee, tea etc, very handy for a late arrival. The town is delightful and has everything you might need or want, and our hosts provided advice and guidance on places to eat and things to do. There are good paths around and it is an easy walk into the town. We would thoroughly recommend this for a short break.

Absolutely delightful stay in Oversley Green

We were lucky enough to stay at Caroline & Paul's traditional English cottage. It is in a tranquil setting with a beautiful garden and access to a river on the property. The hosts were extremely friendly and welcoming. It has everything you need for a wonderful stay..
