This was taken while paragliding in Allevard. The drop zone was just down from The Tower where friends were letting us stay so we had to fly right over the place! The La Tour du Treuil (The Tower of the Trellis) dates back to the year 1170, when it was in the hands of two brothers, Feliks and Marc Croy-Chanel, heirs to the Hungarian throne. Since then ownership has changed at the whim of the political and economic status of the region.

In early 2001 it under-went an extensive two million dollar restoration project by its new owners who transformed it into the perfect harmony between the past and the present.

My family and I are extremely gratefully to the Turo family for the generous opportunity to spend part of our summer here and the fabulous memories we will always cherish.

"Pros: Om eerlijk te zijn: alles beviel in dit huis. De locatie is prachtig en rustig, de voorzieningen in het huis zijn geweldig en de host is zeer vriendelijk en hulpvaardig. Kortom: een echte aanrader! Cons: Voor ons was het prima, maar anderen zouden het terras wat klein kunnen vinden."

"Nous avons été très contents de la location mais plusieurs réflexions. Le prix n’était contents donné. "The house is located in St.Marcel and not in Saint Martin. Location is difficult to find easily since village routing was difficult. Though the sleeping beds for 12 are thrre icludibg a family room, the house is good for 8 adults only and it was ok for us, since we were only 8 person group."

"Dans l’ensemble, tout s’est déroulé de manière fluide. Les salles de bains auraient toutefois pu être livrées dans un état de propreté supérieur. Je recommande également d’améliorer la qualité du linge et des serviettes. De même, à l’instar des hôtels, il serait souhaitable de prévoir du shampooing et autres produits de toilette.
