Second stay here. Fab place, full of character and quirkiness Great location! Great staff, though could do with a couple more as only 3 working in a very busy pub...and they worked hard and with a smile 😃 Seemed a little less loved this time, sadly, like a bit of paint was needed, but still a great place!

This hotel is perfectly located to visit Alnwich Castle, gardens, Lilidorei park and the town. It is clean. The room we had is beautifully decorated, spacious and clean. Breakfast was excellent, staff friendly and helpful. We definitely recommend and hope to come back soon.

Room was great with a comfortable bed. No air-conditioning so hot in the night. A fan was provided. Great shower. Breakfast buffet was basic and had to ask for restock as staff not on top of it. Full English breakfast looked OK. This is a pub as well with a predictable menu if you have visited any in the chain. OK for some but not for us. Would stay again just for the room and location. Parking on street or in nearby car park.

Lovely place, not the usual Greene Kings .our room was entirely unique piece and we loved it. Room was super clean and comfy bed. Staff were just lovely whelp make this a great place to stay. We didn’t eat but the food we saw looked good.

If you like Harry Potter, then you’ll like the accommodation, as there is a strong Harry Potter theme running throughout. That said, the cleanliness of the room occupied was at best ok while shelf space was extremely limited. Breakfast was a two-part affair, split between a cold buffet and a limited selection of hot food from the breakfast menu. The buffet was poorly provisioned when it comes to the likes of pastries, fresh fruit and yogurts with such items either lacking in variety or quantity, or absent, pending delivery.

A thoroughly enjoyable stay. We were in room 3 which had a challenging set of stairs, no lift due to nature of the historic building. Very atmospheric place bang in the middle of the town great access on foot to all amenities. A 10 minute stroll to the Castle and the excellent car park. Breakfast was first class value. The room was spacious excellent shower and roll top bath. Bar facilities very good small outside beer garden. Plenty of Sky Ports TV screens in the bar, Saturday night there is a disco in the bar. Not for us but it did not bother us. All round brilliant place.

Had a three night stay. Quirky Harry Potter themed room. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Had to report to the manager that the shower wasn’t working and he immediately went up to the room and simply turned it on. How embarrassing …. and me an engineer too. Ate in the hotel first night. Food was very good and comparatively inexpensive. Nicely cooked breakfasts as well. Good choice of beer. First time in Alnwick. Would go again. Plenty of places to eat and drink. Loved Harry’s bar which was just a few yards from the hotel.
