So peaceful and cozy
Wonderful stay. House looks small from the outside, but rooms are spacious. Good size kitchen with good space to cook and bathroom with dual sinks, jetted tub and walk in shower. Master bedroom was big, has a sitting area/desk space; King size bed, very comfy. Loft beds 2 full size. also comfy, my daughter loved it up there. Suzan was welcoming, very friendly and attentive to details. Land is beautiful. We had snow during our weekend, needed 4 wheel drive, but was amazing! We all played in the snow, and then enjoyed getting warm by the fire in the home. Suzan welcomed our two dogs (70lb lab and 50lb puppy) with open arms and they loved playing in the snow and had tons of space to run free without bothering others or being in another property. Property is easy to find if you follow Suzan directions (even in the snow). We are looking forward to returning! Wonderful experience and weekend for our family of 3 humans and 2 dogs.

Very Enjoyable Stay
My husband and I really had a wonderful time at the Fairy Tale cottage. We especially liked being able to bring our dog. Very relaxing and quiet environment.

Wonderfully Cozy and Tranquil!
The cottage was wonderful. We are a family of 5. 2 adults and and our 3 children. Ages 9, 4 and 2. Let me tell you there was something for everyone there. The cottage was small but cozy. High chair was available which helped a lot. It was so clean and very well taken care of. The attention to detail by Suzan was just a breath of fresh air. The blankets towels sheets I mean everything smelled so clean and fresh. The house was very clean and well equipped. The outside was super fun for our family we enjoyed the frisbee golf, corn hole, swing set and just exploring the property every morning and evening was exciting for the children and ourselves. I felt very safe with my kids outside even though we always went out with them, she has is so well kept it was perfect our our little ones. I’m a spiritual person and the energy of a place always defines my stay. As soon as we got there I was filled with such love and warmth. So much was put into this property that you can’t help but feel at home there. Suzan greeted us and was so sweet and kind. We will definitely be back to visit soon. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us. We went back home refreshed and recharged!

Enchanting environment, caring host
We came to the fairytale cottage two days after having to say goodbye to our elderly dog, and needless to say we were sad and tired. But Suzan was so caring and welcoming and the house and property so enchanting that we were able to really rest and begin the healing process. The house is very clean and cozy. So much attention to detail, so much thoughtfulness went into her cottage and the property. Will definitely stay here again.

Just wonderful.
You truly couldn’t have a better host than Suzan. The surrounding property is beautiful. The house has everything you could need. A large shower with duel shower heads, a very unique soaking tub, a big beautiful fireplace, and so much more. Suzan was available and very responsive when I had a question. I’m most definitely visiting again. Thank you!

Fairly Tale Cottage
Fairy tale cottage was just what we expected. It is a beautiful charming serene and calm place to just sit back and relax. Our host Suzan was so kind and warm. She tended to our every need. This little spot between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe is just the right place to visit and stay when you want a little get away. Are little dogs loved it here, many nice trails to walk with them. The property is beautiful. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you Suzan

Absolutely Wonderful Stay!!
Our stay at the Fairy Tale Cottage was the perfect place for a relaxing girls weekend getaway!! The cottage is a beautiful home set back in, off the road, surrounded by tall pine trees. The cottage itself is nicely furnished, very clean and fully stocked with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. The owner, Suzan, is the most wonderful and gracious hostess and we truly enjoyed our time visiting with her. We all agreed that God had truly blessed us with our stay here and look forward to returning again soon!! :)

Amazing!!!
Suzan is absolutely an amazing person!!! Property was clean and well kept, cabin is spectacular!! We spent the evening by the fire talking with Suzan and enjoyed a glass of wine conversation. Magical Cottage

Just as described.
We had a pleasant anniversary weekend. The cabin is great. Everything was just as described. We spent a lot of time playing games at the kitchen table. The view is wonderful. The property was very green due to plenty of rain. It poured one night while we were there. The bed is comfortable. Plenty of hot water. We would enjoy staying again and maybe bring some friends.

Adorable pet friendly cottage in the Mountains of Alta Ca
Easy to rent, description of property accurate, very pet friendly, owner very accommodating, lovely place to get away in the Mountains. Lots of hiking and other outdoor activities nearby.

Perfect All Season Getaway
My husband and I and our dogs enjoyed a lovely weekend in the cottage. It is aptly named Fairy Tale. So charming with its homey decor, beautiful rock fireplace and soaking tub in the bathroom. The fairy lights coming on at dusk was an especially magical touch. We intended to get out more than we did but found ourselves so comfortable we mostly stayed in, except for a few little romps in the snow with the dogs. We cooked all of our meals in the well appointed kitchen. Slept well in the comfy bed with its good linens. One night we saw a fox right outside the bedroom’s sliding glass door, dark against the snow. We look forward to staying in Suzan’s cottage again in summer or fall to enjoy the surrounding areas hiking trails and do a little fishing. Sandra Vanlandingham

I highly recommend this cottage.
Suzan (the property owner) and Greg were wonderful and friendly hosts. My wife and I wanted a place that was secluded and comfortable. This cottage provided us with what we wanted with added natural beauty and serenity. We plan on going back. We highly recommend this place.

Lovely cabin
The owner/host greeted us and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. I wish all hosts/hostesses were this nice and accomdating at every place we stay! My kids are convinced that the cabin has a friendly ghost as well. An hour after they gave up trying to start a fire in the fireplace the fire magically sprung to life and started on it's own.

Wonderful Getaway Location
Our stay at the Fairy Tale Cabin was everything we expected and more. Suzan was both welcoming and informative. We felt very comfortable knowing she was nearby, but also had our privacy. The cabin is truly equipped with everything you need, including toiletries, firewood, and even some non-perishable food supplies. The one tip I would give is the GPS directions do not take you to the right location. Suzan's directions are much more accurate. Look for the sign for the cabin on the left-hand side of the street right after the turn off from main st. Thank you, Suzan, for the lovely stay and conversation! Warning: This place is Enchanting and you won't want to leave!
We were grateful to spend the Thanksgiving holiday at the Fairy Tale Cottage. We never even left between check-in and check-out except to explore the enchanted forest around the cottage. There were so many adorable decorations and outbuildings and different places to sit and soak it in. The cottage itself was so clean and cozy with everything you need. Comfy furniture and quality linens top it off as one of the best places I've stayed! I hope to come back soon, and when it's not raining:) Thank you Suzan for being the hostess with the mostess - your love for this place shines through.

Charming Delightful Relaxing Welcoming
The Fairy Tale Cottage is a fabulous destination. Enchanting surroundings with interesting views of woods or decorative structures from every window. Comfortable beds and luxurious tub and shower. Well equipped kitchen with a lovely view from dining table. Suzan is delightful. So many interesting things to see and do in this historical gold rush/railroad/timber town with lots of beautiful fall leaves in October. Lots of places to walk or bike and there is pickleball 6 days per week. At the cottage there is frisbee golf and corn hole and plenty of places to sit and relax. We loved hearing the trains rumble through the night and seeing waters being channeled down the hills to be used for irrigation. Every one in Dutch Flat was very friendly.

Fairy Tale Cottage Oasis
This definitely is a fairy tale cottage in the perfect location. My wife and I stayed here for three nights and were sad to leave. Whether you want to adventure out on some hikes in the area, enjoy local restaurants, or lounge around just to Netflix and chill, this is the place you are looking for. The fire pit, jetted tub, and frisbee golf were added bonuses. We are already looking at our calendars to plan our next trip.

Your soul and spirit will shine!!
From the moment we entered the property, we felt a peaceful quietness that is so often lost in the day to day hustle of busy life. We were greeted by such a kind soul and we could see that her love of life and the forest extended into her cabin and all it’s surroundings. We usually feel uncomfortable at rentals where the owners are on site. (we are just quiet and private people) BUT, you would NEVER know anyone else was on the property. The grounds are so expansive and amongst hundreds of trees, It’s extremely private. You would have to ‘hunt’ to find a person. The cabin was adorable! Bright rooms, wonderfully decorated and so cozy. We had a little mishap...we’ll a big mishap and tore her couch and felt horrible that we couldn’t stay longer to take it to be reupholstered. When we informed Suzan, she was so understanding and said accidents happens, we’ll figure it out. We will have it fixed as soon as possible so that it doesn’t affect her rental. EVERYTHING was PERFECT except the little thing....we caused. This is one our very,very favorite places to stay and hope to stay again soon.

Perfect weekend getaway
First let me say that the pictures are so cute but in person this cottage is even better. The surroundings are incredibly sweet and the house is mush roomier than we expected. We had 4 adults and a dog and the weekend was perfect. The property is well kept and the photo opportunities are endless :) We found that the house was stocked with everything we needed. You do however want to bring any special requests with you because the stores aren't really close. The owner Suzan let us know ahead of time so we came prepared. There was a chest full of games and a great fire pit to sit around at night. We never even turned on the TV, but it was there if you wanted to Netflix the night away. Coming from Sacramento it was an easy hour drive. If you are looking for a quick getaway and some peace and quiet this should be your choice!! Big trees, fresh air, a bottle (or two) of wine by the small fire outside is great for repairing the soul :) My family and I utilize rental properties several times a year. This was one of the best dealings with an owner I have ever experienced!! You will not regret your getaway. Thank you so much Suzan for being so accommodating and easy to deal with! We will be back for sure :) Smiles! P.S. If you don't feel like cooking breakfast, skip it and go try Bear Nook up the street. The owner were so nice and the country gravy is great!
