Good central location

A very quiet time of the year, but the hotel is centrally located so that you can walk anywhere in Amiens, just about. The hotel reception staff were so helpful with directions and information, speaking good english.

This is a great-value hotel within walking distance of train station, Cathedral and lots of restaurants and shops. The breakfast is good too. The staff are wonderful, especially Wendy and Bonilda and they made our stay in beautiful Amiens extra enjoyable. We will hopefully return to Amiens and will definitely stay here again.

in a good location for walking as it is on a pedestrian shopping area. short walk to everything. Although a little out dated it was all very pleasant. Only downfall was no parking.

The hotel is located directly in the centre of Amiens. Around the hotel are lots of shops and restaurants, a beautiful dome with a special light show during night time . Parking is not possible at the hotel, breakfast is very French ( a bit more variety in bred toppings wouldn't harm ). The rooms are very charming and authentic for French way of living. Lots of historique furniture makes the whole house very cozy and kind of familiar

Nice for a short stay

Stayed here for one night and it is conveniently located a short walk from the train station. We did not use metro since much of the city is walkable, and the hotel is very close to many restaurants and cafes and bistros. It was a bit older of a hotel but not bad, and they were nice and let us check our bags in since we arrived early. No AC but luckily it was not hot but it is located a busy street so a little noise coming from the streets. Good stay for the value.

This was a great place to stay in Amiens. The staff were accommodating. They even put in am early breakfast for us at 2:30am to attend the Anzac Day dawn service. Lovely breakfast. The only downside was they didn’t have any English speaking options in the TV. Surrounding shops and restaurants were great and lovely view of the cathedral from my window. Highly recommend this accommodation.

Really friendly and helpful staff. A genuine and traditional French building with modern facilities in keeping with its period. Quiet, clean, a short, flat walk from the beautiful cathedral and very fine museum, with bars and restaurants likewise a short walk from the hotel. The charming quaysides are not far. Amiens is a lovely town for shopping too, and I found very reasonable prices everywhere. Go there!

The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel is brilliantly located near the station and also the main attractions. The breakfast available is very nice. The room was quite old fashioned but a good size and included a table and chairs. The bathroom, however, was very small with only a hand held shower over a very thin bath. The WC was in a separate room with no basin.

Liked everything about the L'univers.The staff.food.bed were all excellent. What I didnt like is the non correspondence from Wotif which put stress on me saying the booking was cancelled and then not hearing from them again.Will not use this booking system again.

Très déçues.

Nous sommes extrêmement déçues de nos trois nuits d'hôtel passées dans une chambre sombre, minuscule et étouffante. J'avais pris une catégorie supérieure en espérant une chambre lumineuse avec une vue sur le parc ou la rue. En réalité, nous avons eu l'impression de passer notre séjour dans un placard à balais avec une petite fenêtre qui donnait sur des toits et dans la chambre des voisins. Nous sommes déjà venues dans cet hôtel, d'habitude charmant, et très bien situé dans Amiens. Je crois, hélas, que c'était notre dernière fois.

"Grand hôtel de l'univers" ou "Chez Robert"

La chambre ne correspondait en rien aux photos du site. Chambre très vielle, tapisserie et moquette des année 80. Le toilette ne tenais pas au sol, sans compter le rideau de douche en tissus qui vous colle aux fesses. J'ai séjournée deux nuitées, la chambre n' même pas été redressée entre les deux. je suis revenu le deuxième jours, rien avait bougé par rapport à la veille. Le lit défait, la salle de bain pas néttoyée, plus de dosettes de café. Le nom de cet hotel ne reflette pas ce que l'on y découvre.
