My biggest issue was the inconsistency with staff. While all were friendly, there were issues everywhere.
1. My Bonvoy number was not recorded properly, lots of confusion surrounding it.
2. At check in, I was told repeatedly that there was no room service breakfast. I said no, I understand the room I booked includes breakfast downstairs but if I pay for it, extra, I can have it delivered to my room. No we don’t offer that. Suffice to say it was a communications breakdown, lost in translation, whatever. I did get breakfast delivered and charged to my room.
3. I placed my order via the digital system. I entered specific requests where they left space for me to do so. This worked great for two dinners. And one breakfast. The first breakfast was a disaster; not one note was read or acknowledged. No cup for the tea. No milk for the tea. Scrambled eggs not egg whites. Etc etc.
4. I booked and prepaid for a car to take me to the Amsterdam Cruise Terminal. At the time of checkout, a tour group was departing and an American was arguing over his bill. The staff were spinning but no one more than the doorman. I told him I had booked a car, prepaid and he would be there soon. I had to checkout first. He came back two minutes later, flustered. I said he’s here? Yes! I said great, pls load the luggage and I will be right out. Basically, I was put in wrong car. My guy calls my cell. Drivers were great. We meet and switch! But staff were over their heads by one tour group! Yikes!
