Good stay

Check in was smooth and easy. View was beautiful. There were ants in the Primary bedroom and bathroom, not sure where they were coming from but make sure to keep belongings off the floor. Kitchen was spacious and good for cooking with friends!

Beach birthday!

Great weekend for our sons 7th. Birthday! Wonderful location with beautiful views. Parking with 2 trucks was tight however. We will be booking the is place again!

We enjoyed our time staying in this property. It met our needs, was comfortable and spacious. It was noted that one of the king beds had a mattress that is ready to be replaced - dipped into the center. Otherwise no issues.

BEAUTIFUL HOME - POORLY MAINTAINED

This is a beautiful waterfront home in a convenient location with amazing views. The home itself is beautiful, but is managed by a company called Vacasa, and someone is not maintaining the property or cleaning it to I'll level it deserves. We text the Vacasa company multiple times throughout our stay to express our frustration and disappointment. Some of the screens were torn and blowing in the wind, the windows on the home were filthy, the washing machine sounded like it was going to blow up, my mother pulled her covers back the first evening to find sheets covered in long black hairs. We tossed one of the pillows in the laundry room because it was yellow with stains and smelled so bad we couldn't sleep on it, the sliding door tracks were filled with dead bugs and dirt, the ceiling beams and pendant lighting were full of cobwebs, the faucets in the bathrooms and kitchens were loose, and there were ants everywhere. Any crumbs left on the kitchen floor were immediately crawling with hundreds of ants, the bedroom floors were full of ants. My poor 70 year old mother left her suitcase open on the bedroom floor and the inside of her suitcase was completely full of ants and my parents bed was crawling with ants. When we toweled up the water on the floors after showering the white towels were just black with filth, on the first night I considered taking a bath and the inside of the tub was full of dirt. We were so bummed to spend over $3,000 to rent a house only to battle ants and a dirty home all week. Just so disappointing. Such a beautiful home that deserves such better care.

IMPROVE your communications ..!

Nice house, a few things needed fixing which I mentioned in a report to VACASA. However, no contact info for either you or Vacasa, in case we had problems. Just WHO is the coordinator of a visit, you or VACASA. Very confusing.

Exploring Fidalgo Island & Anacortes

Beautiful house and property overlooking Similk Bay. Of the Puget Sound waterfront homes we have vacationed at the past three to four years via VRBO this was at the top in terms of home, property, view and beach. Nice layout and architecture and very comfortable and roomy for six adults (three couples). We would definitely come back! Unfortunately, based on prior VRBO rental experiences, this home was at the bottom of our ratings in terms of the overall experience as several items were in need of some attention. Some of items were: Master bath hot water faucet on one of twin sinks not working; kitchen faucet loose; cupboard arm-catch mechanism in need of repair being held up by just one of two screws (potential injury situation as the cupboard opens upwards and if the arm-catch failed it could slam down on arm or head-this was immediately reported to Vacasa-the property management Co.); slider doors in need of lubricating (some of our guests could not slide the door open to go out onto the patio area; sliding door handle loose; ceiling light out in one of the bedrooms; refrigerator ice maker not working (substitute ice trays leaked); change water filter light illuminated on refrigerator (how long has it been this way?); no written instructions on operating TV-frustrating. This property has a million dollar view but windows appeared they were in need of a long over due cleaning inside and out. The usual supplies for the home were very limited. We had to purchase extra dishwasher pods, laundry soap, TP and paper towels. We were not impressed with Vacasa who is managing the property. About three days before our arrival, we contacted them to confirm there would be ample chairs and patio table as we reserved the home for six guests. Vacasa responded that should not be a problem. When we arrived, only four patio chairs on the patio and two metal folding chairs up against the house. We could see extra patio furniture through the locked garage window and contacted Vacasa. They indicated someone would come by that afternoon to access the furniture or let us know otherwise. Two days later after not hearing a word, we asked again. Vacasa is prompt to respond via e-mail but there was no real follow-up or action during our seven-day stay. I took the time to report the above issues to Vacasa so they can hopefully remedy them before the next guests because it is really a beautiful property and the the property, owner(s) and customers deserve a lot better.

Overall good but some smaller issues

The house and location are very nice as you can see from the pictures and other reviews. We appreciated the high quality of the fixtures including high end cooktop, oven, and washer and dryer. The fundamentals of the house are high quality. A review mentioned needing to bring your own salt, pepper, and saran wrap but we found those things in the house (maybe management response to previous review). The house seemed clean except for the sofas (and the sofas are not pullout in case that is unclear). We did find a number of small things that were broken, or in need of replacement. The 3rd bedroom bed has a depression in the mattress. This was a problem. The other things were more of an irritant than major problems. For example, a broken lock on the 3rd bathroom door, the door on the 2nd bath room does not lock, the big doors leading to the outside are extraordinarily hard to close, ants in the master bathroom, broken screen doors, and so on. In summary, the design, quality, and location of the house are very good, but small maintenance things appear to have piled up and detract from an otherwise good impression.

wildlife viewing from your door

Perfect place for my family-- large table for eating and playing games with a gorgeous view. Watched eagles, seals, herons, and other wildlife. Beach access right out the door provided hours of enjoyable activity.

Such a beautiful home and spacious ... and being that close to the beach was even better. We loved our visit ... we cooked some wonderful meals in the awesome kitchen (except dishwasher didn't seem to use hot water or heat to dry ... and coffee maker was so very slow that I could have had time to run into town and return before it was done ... so don't be in a hurry for a cup of coffee!! I would have to agree with another tenant, it would have been nice to have an instruction manual on how things operate ... fireplace, TV, heat, alarm, etc!! I think it is important that it should be noted somewhere, to let people know, that the driveway is very steep and tight ... it would be a bit scary if you have bad brakes, large vehicle or a low undercarriage!! Overall, AWESOME

Perfect property.

This house is a luxurious home away from home. From the view to the tub to the heated floors, this house was the perfect place for our family to get a little refresh from all of our “togetherness” since March of this year. Meals at the huge table was a delight with the view. Mood lighting throughout the house. Hot water on demand. Large grassy play area, driftwood to climb on. Bright light the entire day through large windows through the house. Truly wonderful. The property manager, Kelly, was very helpful, professional, and courteous. When packing, don’t forget to bring your own salt and pepper, leftover containers, foil, and plastic wrap. We will be repeat customers for sure. Can’t wait to come back already!

Just what we wanted!

We were very comfortable in this beautifully designed waterfront home. Great kitchen with everything we needed. Wonderful views. Warm interior despite chilly October weather outside. It was warm enough that we didn't actually use the central fireplace. But we used the firepit one dry evening, we cooked in the kitchen, played games at the dining table, relaxed in the master bedroom reading chairs, enjoyed the 2-person master bathtub, the kids plugged in for online homework... and from all those locations we could enjoy the ever-interesting and peaceful views of the water and islands beyond.

Wonderful location and Family friendly

Getting your own beach access is rare for a vacation rental! Bring your own kayaks and enjoy a quiet row from the back yard. The home is great for kids to roam and enjoy the outdoors. Spend your days and evenings by the fire pit and take advantage of the beautiful kitchen.

Beautiful View and Nice Amenities

The location and view was spectacular. There was a short walk from the patio to the water. The kitchen was incredible, and well stocked. Another big selling point was the master bedroom, which had the best view in the entire house. Only downsides: all the extra sheets in the master closet reeked of campfire, there were not as many chairs in the dining room because they were broken, and did not get a single reply from the property management company when I tried reaching out before we got there. Overall we were happy with our stay and had a very pleasant weekend, we would definitely come back again!
