"We've stayed at this particular location in the past, when it was part of other chains, most recently Ramada, I believe. The current owners are busy renovating the property and while it remains a work in progress, we were impressed with what's been done so far. Our room had been renovated and was very nice, an improvement on our most recent previous stay at the location. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Continental breakfast was fine (I'd suggest adding bagels or wheat bread to the options for toast). The hotel has an indoor pool that is large enough to allow for real exercise. I hope the owners will continued their efforts to remodel and improve the property and that travelers will give them a chance. We travel to the area frequently to visit family and will plan on staying there again."

"There's on-site maintenance right there when I arrived to make everything easy. Also got a call from Cathy the owner to check in on me. Great time especially at night with the campfire and breeze from the lake. Fun local bar scene as well at Whacky Jacks and also the Timber Steak House"

"So much space and the host was very easy to communicate with. We had an amazing time and plenty of space for everyone. No shortage of towels and blankets. My only concern was the toys in the event room did have mold on them due to the moisture in there. Not a good place to store those. But we just kept the kids out of them."

"There is plenty of parking right in front of the building. Checking in was easy—you get the physical key from a lockbox using a 4-digit code. The place was pristinely clean. The lake view was beautiful, and you can enjoy it from the chairs right by the door, or from inside. My wife and I used the kayaks to explore Fox Lake, and it was a lot of fun. Even though it was my first time, it was easy to maneuver through the still water. Life jackets are conveniently kept in the brown box. There are big-screen smart TVs in the living room and in each of the two bedrooms. You can bring an HDMI device (like a laptop) to use them as monitors, or log into your own Netflix account (just don't forget to log out). High-speed Wi-Fi is also available. Although we didn't cook, the kitchen was well-stocked with cups, plates, pots, a cutting board, disposable silverware, and dish soap with sponges. We did use the provided K-cup coffee pods and the creamer in the fridge. There are many restaurants just a few minutes away. We really enjoyed our stay. I might be back with my kids in the future. Thank you very much!"

"1. This place is very cute and the interior property pictures are spot on. The decorations are nicely understated (beach theme without being BEACH THEME). 2. The kitchen was well appointed. The pots and pans were really nice, there are quality knives and basic spices, plenty of plates/dishes/cups/silverware. Also there were nicely LOTS of games and even some books.3. The ice maker in the freezer does not work. Bring an ice machine or be prepared to purchase ice.4. This place is not on the water. There is a slight water view but only from select parts of the property. It isn't even on a back lot, but behind the house on a back lot with an easement to the water. The owner stated it was a short one minute walk but he must be in excellent shape compared to me. It took a lot longer to walk to the dock. You have to go across a street, down multiple sets of stairs (past 2 different houses) and then you are on uneven ground up against a fence for the last part of your walk. Then once you get to the water, you are at the dock. But you can't swim or fish off of the dock and the dock is rather rickety. 5. The area has loads of things to do nearby, restaurants a coffee truck and a donut shop. Plus on the water there is a food truck (is it a truck when it is floating?) and the corner store is nice plus the people working at the corner store were really helpful."
