"We stayed at the hotel at the end of a trip across Germany and Belgium. It was by far the best hotel we stayed in. We ate in the restaurant to celebrate our anniversary one evening and then in the bar area other times. All the food (including breakfast) was first class and there are quite a few areas you can go and enjoy a drink after dinner. We also used the pool and jacuzzi which were both very well maintained and clean. But, the main thing for us, was the staff in the restaurant and bar. They were amazing, super-friendly, and professional. Nothing was too much trouble and we're always happy to give help and advice. An absolute credit to Hotel Van Der Valk, well done."

"Absolutely first class from the time we entered. Only stayed one night but everything was perfect. Loved the slippers as I hate walking around barefoot! Even Martini & Gin available for breakfast, sadly didn't participate. Thank you, this hotel is a credit to your company. X"

"The rooms themselves were fine. However, when we arrived, there was no air conditioning during a very hot string of days. The check in staff did not seem to know how to fix it, and they said that it may not be fixed for a few days! When I contacted the manager, at the staff's request, she never responded back!! After a warm night, we talked to a new hotel staff person who said the fix was actually quite simple and he had the air conditioning up and running in about 15 minutes. Why this problem, which affected many people in the hotel, could not have been resolved right away is beyond me. The manager was clearly unable or unwilling to deal with hotel problems."

"I love a bright, colourful hotel. This property was a feast for the eyes. Everything was gorgeous and the bed was comfortable and big. The soundproofing was excellent and there was no noise from other guests. The public transport options were very good and it was walking distance to MAS and the Port House. Everything about the property was a 10 out of 10."

"The hotel is in an excellent location, few minutes walk from the train station and close to the main attractions. The property is well maintained, clean and welcoming.Our room was small, but practical.Beautiful view on the street side rooms.The reception is on the 6th floor with the reception and breakfast area and a terrace. Luggage lockers are also available for no extra charge. Highly recommend to stay here."
