I had an extremely calm time at the Southern Star Club at Aqaba, Jordan. The owners are wonderful people and the property is very well taken cared of. Breakfast was just right and freshly made. The pool is fabulous and refreshing. I'd like to stay here again next time visiting Aqaba.

My favorite place to stay in Aqaba, the place is quiet, clean, comfortable and close to the sea. Hotel owners are amazing people, very hospitable and friendly.

This place may be ok for the scuba diving crowd, but if you have a wife who expects certain hotel-like things--like soap, shampoo, a coffee kettle، forget it. Look elsewhere. In addition, we were offered absolutely no check in, no passport, no marriage cert, and no help with the room's features--,like how to figure out how to take a hot shower. Also no television though one stares blackly at you from across the bed. And there were the aggressive dogs...No, don't do it!

Southern Star Club used to be one of our favorite places to stay in Aqaba because of its location close to the sea, good prices, and the helpful people. Unfortunately, this stay was quite disappointing compared to our previous experiences. We were the only guests staying at the property, so we expected the experience to be a little more flexible and comfortable. The room was extremely hot, and we had issues with the AC. We asked if we could leave it running while we were out so the room would be comfortable when we returned, but we were told we had to switch it off whenever we left. Breakfast was a simple set menu for two, but there was no communication about what time we would like to have it. When we asked to have breakfast a little later, we were simply told that breakfast was only available from 7–10 AM. Considering we were the only guests at the property, we expected a little more flexibility. The pool also didn’t feel as clean as we remembered, and the chlorine smell was extremely strong. Our room was quite small, and when we asked about moving to a larger room, we were told we would need to pay almost double the price. We still have good memories of this place and think it has a lot of potential, but unfortunately this stay wasn’t what we expected based on our previous experiences. We don’t think we’ll be returning or recommending it to our friends after this visit.

My stay at Southern Star Club was nothing short of amazing! It has quickly become my favorite. A huge shoutout to the owner, Amer, whose incredible hospitality and delicious, homemade breakfasts truly made our stay there a special one! This hotel offers a peaceful retreat in a quiet location, yet it's perfectly positioned near Southern Beach and Tala Bay. We loved being within walking distance of Japanese Garden Beach and Bernice Beach. For anyone visiting Aqaba for diving or snorkeling, this hotel is an ideal base. The property features a large, beautiful pool and a nice shared terrace with BBQ facilities. The property offers both regular rooms and rooms offering kitchenettes, in addition to its impeccable cleanliness. We thoroughly enjoyed my time here!

Don't Ren from them, Falls advertisement. There is no people at place, no pool available. The gave us a room not what we booked. The place scary no light on. You live on back yard of the owner and his wife You don't fell comfortable at all. They are small lizards at bed room.

No vacancy despite confirmation number

I had confirmation from hotels.com but owner of hotel said they were full. She had one room but it was more expensive than the one I paid for and she would not offer at same price. Did not offer to assist in rebooking elsewhere despite the fact that I had traveled far by bus and taxi to reach the destination and there wasn’t anything else nearby. As an aside, unless you are a scuba diver, I do not see the charm of Aqaba. There are much better places to see in the region.

Unhygienic Facilities Dishonest Management Avoid

During my stay at Southern Star Club Hotel, I had an extremely disappointing experience. Upon check-in, the toilet in our room wasn’t flushing properly. I reported it to a staff member, who provided a plunger. Despite my efforts to fix it, the issue persisted. Before leaving for dinner, I informed staff again, requesting it be addressed while we were out. At 4:30 AM, the toilet became completely unusable. Staff returned and spent nearly an hour using a hose both inside and outside the room, but the problem remained unresolved. We were forced to use the shower for basic needs and rely on a separate bathroom for other necessities, creating an unsanitary and deeply uncomfortable situation. When I requested a refund for the severe inconvenience, the owner accused us of causing the damage to the toilet. Hours after we had already checked out, she sent a photograph of intact toilet paper as evidence. The image was inconsistent with materials that had gone through a sewer line, raising serious doubts about the validity of their claim and the hotel’s honesty. Despite multiple attempts to address the issue respectfully, owner refused to issue a refund and continued to place unjust blame on us. This experience was not only unacceptable and unsanitary but also a reflection of dishonest and unprofessional business practices. I strongly advise against staying at Southern Star Club Hotel to avoid similar treatment, lack of accountability, and disregard for basic guest comfort and respect.

Great place to snorkel/dive!!

We had a lovely stay. We were welcomed and able to check in to our room early. We were given excellent recommendations by Amer of where to go snorkelling and he took my partner out diving. Perfect stay for a couple. The pools are 5m and 2m deep so would not be good for children but I had a lovely swim. Was very relaxing. We had a car so could easily drive in to Aqaba for dinner in 10-15 mins. Would recommend to couples who want to do some snorkelling/diving

SCAM

SCUBA DIVING SCAM! Stayed here a few weeks ago and while the accommodation is adequate (not great), the owner is a fraud. Convinced me to pay for the PADI scuba diving course saying that it would make getting a fully open water course cheaper. He said he would fill out the forms and I should receive an email a few days later, however I never received that email and have contacted him since, but he kept saying he was busy and yet to fill out the forms. If I could give zero stars I would. Should have read the previous reviews (on Google) before agreeing to pay. He also operates cash only, meaning we have no record of payment!

Peaceful Setting

Beautiful, quiet setting and very welcoming friendly, helpful staff. About a twenty minute drive out of Aqaba, close to the beach. Nothing else really around apart from Dive Centres. Room was large, with a fridge. Separate toilet and shower. We found the mattress on the bed hard and uncomfortable. You really need your own transport to get here and around Aqaba.
