"Cabin and surrounding property were amazing. Our family had an incredible time during the week we stayed. We spent much of our time hanging out at the lake (3 good spots, which are a short walk from cabin) relaxing in the hot tub or lounging on the deck with a good book. Paul is a tremendous host and provided a seamless experience. This location is an absolute treasure."

"This cabin was exactly as advertised and exactly what we were looking for. Janet and her daughter and son-in-law were welcoming, hospitable, helpful, and respected our privacy. At the end of 2 weeks I didn’t want to leave. We plan on coming back to this cabin in a beautiful corner of the world."

"You never know what you’re really booking & wonder if the pictures, description & reviews are honest. This place was amazing. Everything was perfect. It was super clean, quiet, comfy.The location is so central, we enjoyed a few days of not driving at all & walked everywhere in town. It was very nice to have a proper kitchen as we made breakfast & coffee each morning, & I made supper most nights, we saved a lot of money not eating at restaurants every meal. We have already decided that this will be a place we return to next year & hope to stay even longer. It was so nice to come into the suite after a day wandering around & have it be so nice & cool. The outside temps were in the low 30’s each day so being comfortable at night to sleep was very relaxing. Can’t wait to book again & will encourage friends & family to stay here."

Kootenay Paradise Retreat!

"From the moment we arrived, we knew we had found something special. The pool, hot tub, and gardens were absolutely incredible. Every morning we wandered through the garden picking fresh raspberries, and being able to harvest carrots and beets was memorable touch. It felt like our own little private paradise. And the views? Simply breathtaking—you never get tired of looking at them.Our young granddaughter practically lived in the pool! It was the highlight of her vacation, and watching her have so much fun made the trip even more special for all of us. And what a joy to allow the dogs to run free in the grassy area.Although the property feels wonderfully private and tucked away from the hustle and bustle, we were pleasantly surprised to find a well-stocked grocery store only about 10 minutes away. One thing that really impressed us was how thoughtfully equipped the home was. We've stayed in many vacation rentals where we've had to buy basic items like spices, coffee, sugar, ketchup, mustard, and other condiments. Not here! This home was stocked with virtually everything you could possibly need.We even experienced a major windstorm during our stay that knocked out the power throughout the area. Thankfully, the home has a backup generator which showed how well prepared the owners are.I grew up in the Kootenays and wanted a place close enough to visit family in Castlegar while still feeling like we were truly on vacation. This property was absolutely perfect. Thanks!"

"What am amazing, historic home in an amazing location! The house is old but fully equipped, located right beside a stream at a historic site, a ghost town high in the BC hills. Don’t expect modern niceties like cell service or multiple bathrooms, but do expect character and charm!"
